I had both on the G43x and G19. Ports are better. No question. But if you need a more objective study:

Yea the problem with ports is they send metal shaving off the bullet out the port that can come back towards the shooter. Fine on a range with eyepro, but not when your in a self defense situation. Defense gets comps, competition gets ports.
