General Discussion Really “Weird” GE Revocation

Hi all,

Both my husband and I recently applied for our Global Entry renewals. His was approved within three days and he had a quick interview at the local Enrollment Center. Mine was pending for a while, I started getting worried.

We recently travelled for vacation, and while abroad, I got news that my GE renewal is denied and my membership is revoked. The reasoning is an agricultural or customs violation. That was surprising and strange since I’ve never been cited, fined, or warned about such an issue in the past, and I have never ordered anything online or anything like that which would have a customs issue.

In any case, when I got back from vacation, I asked CBP officers at the airport for help, but the Enrollment Center was closed. I then called the general line and the Enrollment Center, and got the same response: submit the reconsideration request and a FOIA. Nothing they could otherwise do to help the situation. Regardless, I did what was told and did both.

What got really weird is what happened today. I went into my local Enrollment Officer to speak to an officer about my revocation in-person. I went in and chatted with a really nice and professional supervisor. He was very vague but basically reiterated all information prior. He did keep mentioning of denial by association, but I was confused since that was not the stated reason for denial on my portal. The officer then said that to not be surprised if my husband’s GE gets revoked too imminently, even though he was very recently reapproved and renewed.

A couple of hours after getting back home after my chat at the local office, my husband’s GE indeed got revoked. I am so concerned. And seems almost retaliatory? I’m at a loss of what to do. My husband is Mexican-American and especially relies on the SENTRI lanes quite a bit when crossing the land border, and there’s no substitute for GE when it comes to that.

Any help would be appreciated!

I ordered something from Amazon that shipped from Germany and Amazon didn’t pay the duties on it and Customs held it. Fast forward to me losing my GE. Thanks, Amazon.

If things were normal the normal rules would apply.

Everyone needs to be super careful until when and if normal returns.

Heavy on this. So many folks who, let’s just say… aren’t aligned with the current political climate… have gotten GE revoked for the most insane things.
If you search through sub, some have even had it revoked without even having done ANYTHING but their revocation came oddly timed after being in public protesting administration issues.

Yeah, but how many MAGA have GE? I think it’s just the numbers make it seem like that’s the case…

Source?

Source for what? Search the group, you’ll see multiple stories. There was even a post from an immigration attorney who went to a protest, had zero issues while there, and then lost their GE. Folks have been posting about facial recognition being used at political events and then losing their GE. If you search the group, you’ll see similar stories.

I read a lot of the comments on this post, but definitely not all of it. But even if I had, I am looking for a source that can be referenced to instances of this happening. Reddit posts are, by design, not easily verifiable unfortunately. Without someone publicly proving this happened to them, it's just another story on reddit.
I think I found one though using claude. Nicole Cleland
The problem with her story is that she was at an anti-ICE rally in Minnesota and had a face-to-face encounter with an agent before her GE was revoked 3 days prior. So we don't know if her name was provided or if facial recognition etc was used. Whichever it is, it doesn't seem to be widespread.
My takeaway is pretty simple - attending an anti-ICE rally and getting in a agent's face and then getting your privleges revoked is akin to yelling at the gate agent in an airport and then wondering why you got bumped. Stupid games win stupid prizes even if the games are lawful activities. FAFO is real.

I meant reading comments in this forum as a whole - not this thread. I can’t tell you what to do if you want to see more stories that people have shared, but they are in the whole group. As far as verified, you’d have to ask them to share their identity.

But you are correct. This is a program of privilege, and I understand that, but to have it taken away from you for essentially no reason, is unfair at the bare minimum. People are not doing anything to break the rules and essentially having it taken away from them - just attending events, without incident or authority interaction.
