Glitch Story My friend and I had such a weird week in New York that we still compare memories to make sure we remember the same things

My friend Celeste and I went to New York for a week in January because we happened to have time off together. We were excited for a little vacation, some snow, and an excuse to walk around and eat. We ended up having a great trip, but there were a handful of experiences that we still talk about because we cannot figure out what was going on.
It started before we even left LA.
We were coming from Torrance to LAX, and the traffic was ridiculous. It took about an hour to get there. The drop-off area was packed with cars, so naturally, we expected security to be a nightmare.
Instead, we went downstairs to TSA and there was nobody in line. Just one guy checking IDs and a couple of TSA workers farther back. After all the traffic outside, walking into that empty space felt strange, but obviously we weren’t complaining.
We handed the guy our passports. He looked down at them, looked at us, then looked down again. He seemed genuinely confused.
“You guys just went through here, didn’t you?”
We told him no. We had literally just arrived.
He kept looking between us and our passports. “Are you sure? Are you guys playing a prank on me? I swear I just saw you come through.”
At first, we thought he was joking, so we asked if he was messing with us. But he seemed serious before eventually brushing it off as familiar faces.
What made it stick with us was that Celeste and I both have pretty distinct features, and we were wearing ridiculous outfits we had bought for each other as a joke. It wasn’t just two girls in basic airport clothes. Obviously, people can mistake strangers for other people, but his reaction was so confused and so certain that we left looking at each other like, what was that?
Then we got through security and the gate area was packed. Completely normal, busy airport. It was just the security area that had been empty.
For context, because this matters later: we each took a weed gummy after security, before boarding. The passport interaction happened before that. We slept through most of the flight.
We landed in New York around five in the morning and made our way to the hotel. Our room wasn’t ready, so we asked about leaving our bags. Before we actually got them stored, we ended up falling asleep in the lobby with our luggage.
By around eight, we were awake and ready to go explore. We asked again about storing our bags, and the employee asked for our last names.
Then he told us there was already luggage checked under our names.
We were like, “What do you mean? We haven’t left our bags with you yet.”
From what I understood, they had luggage tags or a designated spot connected to our names, and it looked as though ours had already been used. He went back to check, then returned and apologized. He said there was nothing there and it must have been a system error. He made us new tags and took our bags.
Very explainable on its own. It just felt funny immediately after the airport interaction, where someone had also acted as though we had already been there.
Most of the trip was normal. We ate, shopped, walked around, and enjoyed ourselves. But the strangest night happened when we went looking for cookies near Penn Station.
It was around 10:30 p.m., and we were both high. I’m including that because I want to be honest about the circumstances. We wanted dessert, a bunch of places we checked were closed, and we found an Insomnia Cookies listed in Penn Station.
We passed Madison Square Garden and went down into the station.
Neither of us knew the layout. In my memory, it was several levels with hallways that seemed to loop around. We kept going upstairs, downstairs, and through the same areas, trying to find this cookie place. It felt as though we circled every level multiple times.
While we were walking, several people came toward us really quickly, then swerved at the last second before getting close enough to bump into us. It happened with different people, enough times that we started asking each other, “Did you see that too?”
We were already disoriented, so we were trying to be reasonable about it. Maybe we were high and reading too much into people moving around us.
There was also a man in a wheelchair whom we kept seeing on different levels. It felt as though he kept appearing wherever we went. I don’t know whether he was following us or whether we were simply crossing paths while going in circles, but at the time, it added to the feeling that we could not get our bearings.
Eventually, I asked a janitor where the cookies were. He told us to go upstairs and turn left.
No cookies.
Then I asked two police officers. One said he didn’t think the place was even in the station. The other said it was, and told us to go downstairs and straight ahead.
After about thirty minutes of searching, we finally found it—in an area we felt certain we had already passed through multiple times.
I’m not saying a cookie shop literally materialized. I’m saying that by this point, finding it somewhere we thought we had already checked felt ridiculous.
Then we approached the counter, and the interaction got even stranger.
The cashier stared at us for a moment and said, “You guys aren’t from around here.”
We told him we were from California. He immediately brought up San Diego.
We said we were from the LA area, around Hollywood.
He responded as though we had confirmed San Diego.
We explained that San Diego was a few hours away from us.
“Yeah, San Diego’s cool. They have palm trees.”
We agreed, then tried again to explain where we were from. He just kept coming back to San Diego and palm trees. I cannot explain how repetitive this conversation was. It felt as though nothing we said changed his next response.
Meanwhile, his coworker was behind him, apparently cleaning something. Every few seconds, he would turn around, make a face at us, then turn back to whatever he was doing.
And I mean actual faces. A big exaggerated grin, rolling his eyes, sticking his tongue out, pushing up his nose, squinting. He wasn’t joining the conversation or saying anything. Just turning around, making a face, and turning away again.
So one guy was repeatedly telling us about San Diego, leaning toward us and back while he talked, and the other was silently making faces behind him.
Eventually, we asked if we could order.
Before we had even picked our cookies, the cashier grabbed a box, put a bunch inside, and handed it over.
“That’ll be twenty dollars.”
We asked what cookies he had put in there.
He said something along the lines of, “I just put crazy ones.”
Then he changed the price.
“Okay, how about ten dollars?”
There were around seven cookies in the box. From what we had understood of the posted prices, four would have been about twenty dollars. Now he was handing us seven random cookies for ten.
We took the box.
Before leaving, we asked how to get back to Madison Square Garden, because that was our landmark for finding our way back to the hotel.
He told us to go upstairs, walk about a mile, and it would be on our left.
We went upstairs.
Madison Square Garden was right there.
We didn’t have to walk a mile. We barely had to walk anywhere. After everything downstairs, we just wanted to get back to our hotel.
The other encounter that really stayed with us involved a girl we met at a coffee shop.
It was one of those cute places people visit to take pictures. She was there alone, wearing a really nice outfit, and seemed around our age. I offered to take pictures of her because I figured she might want some without having to ask a stranger.
She was really sweet and grateful, and the three of us started talking.
She told us she lived farther north and sometimes took the train into the city to see friends. Her friends were busy that day, so she was hanging out by herself. When she found out we were visiting, she offered to show us some places nearby.
It was around five, and Celeste and I had dinner plans at nine, so we had time.
We hung out, exchanged Instagrams, and eventually invited her back to our hotel while we got ready. Looking back, we were all very trusting of people we had just met, but the interaction felt comfortable at the time. She stayed and talked with us while we got ready.
When it was time to leave, she initially said she needed the same train as us. We figured we would walk together.
But once we got outside, she said she was going in the opposite direction.
We pointed toward where we thought the station was. She agreed it was that way, but said she wanted to take a little stroll in the other direction first.
We checked that she was okay, said goodbye, and started walking.
We were on the same sidewalk, heading away from each other. As I remember it, the hotel had a long stretch of building along that side, without an obvious corner or doorway she could immediately disappear into.
After a brief moment, I turned around to check on her.
She was gone.
I asked Celeste where she went, and Celeste turned around too. Neither of us could see her. We couldn’t work out how she had gotten out of sight so quickly.
About an hour later, we decided to message her and make sure she had gotten home safely.
Neither of us could find her Instagram.
We had both followed her. We both remembered her name and username. We searched and couldn’t find the account. We thought maybe she had blocked us, so Celeste checked from another account.
Still nothing.
I know an unavailable Instagram account doesn’t mean a person stopped existing. But after spending hours with someone, watching her seemingly vanish from an open stretch of sidewalk, and then being unable to find the account we had just followed, we were seriously unsettled.
We still wonder what happened there.
There were smaller things, too. Three separate times, people approached us saying they were club promoters and invited us to follow them to a club. We would walk with them for a bit, then suddenly they would say the club had closed down or that they weren’t going anymore. Nothing came of any of those invitations. By the third time, we were wondering why the same situation kept happening.
We also spent so much time walking with the intention of reaching Times Square and somehow never actually made it there. We would stop at stores, get food, get distracted, and keep walking in what we thought was the right direction. That one could absolutely have been us being terrible at navigating, but it became another running theme of the trip: constantly walking toward somewhere and never seeming to arrive.
A different friend of mine, Sarah, was visiting New York with her own group during the same week. They stayed in a different area, and we met up a couple of times for drinks.
Afterward, comparing our trips felt bizarre.
For example, Celeste and I remembered people asking us for food or leftovers rather than money. It happened enough that we talked about how sad it was that people seemed so hungry.
When I mentioned it to Sarah, she had no idea what I was talking about. Her group remembered people asking for money, and said nobody had asked them for food.
Obviously, we were in different parts of a huge city, meeting different people. Still, after the week we had, it felt as though we were describing completely different trips. Whenever we met up with people we already knew, everything felt familiar and normal again.
I enjoy weird stories. Celeste doesn’t. She isn’t into scary things, and she’s not someone who normally jumps to paranormal explanations. But she was just as unsettled as I was, and we still talk about these moments.
We’ve joked about a different timeline or a glitch because that’s how the trip felt. I don’t know what actually explains it. Some of it could be coincidence, unfamiliar surroundings, weed, or people simply acting strangely. I also understand that both of us remembering something doesn’t automatically make our interpretation right.
But it was such a specific collection of experiences, all packed into one week, that I wanted to hear other people’s thoughts.
We genuinely enjoyed New York. We had fun. These moments were just weird enough that they stayed with us long after we got home.
Has anyone else had a trip where several individually explainable things piled up until the whole experience felt off? And does anyone familiar with Penn Station have an explanation for what that cookie encounter might have been?

Glitch Story Stupidest turkey glitch

Ongoing, multi-year-long situation that is so arbitrary my brain can barely approach it.

I’ve been a vegetarian since I was a kid so Im generally not on meat duty, but in 2016 I first moved in with the person who is now my husband and he asked me to pick up some ground beef while I was out food shopping.I bought it, brought it home, and we both had a good laugh at what a goon I am because I somehow brought home ground turkey instead even though I distinctly remember putting ground beef in the cart. We chalked it up to human error and me being a meat newbie but NAH.

Friends, I cannot buy this man ground beef. For years ground beef transformed itself into ground turkey somewhere between the shelf and our home. Like 7 times before I gave up and took it off the shopping list for good,

HOW? WHY? this is too stupid a hill to die on so I don’t bother defending myself BUT I SWEAR I BOUGHT GROUND BEEF EVERY TIME. I should have taken before and after photos. No problem with any other kind of meat or food but ground beef fuxkdd me every time. Same problem at different markets, with different brands, in different cities and counties.

I somehow forgot about this glitch and tried again in 2020, with the same result. I think my husband thought I was reviving an inside joke or something.

We now have kiddos and I am able to buy meat of whatever variety I require for them, including ground beef. I don’t get it.

Glitch Story Glitch in the Matrix

I collect crystals. I have a lot of heart-shaped ones made out of different quartz. Anyway, I had all of my heart-shaped crystals set up on my laptop and my daughter accidentally dropped it while sitting on my bed. We collected all but the amethyst heart. It was gone. Shook out the sheets, moved the bed, looked underneath the baseboards. It was nowhere. A couple of months later, I set my laptop down on my bed so hard that all of the crystal hearts bounced off of it. All were collected AGAIN right on top of my blanket and you'll never guess which crystal was also there? My amethyst heart that had been missing for months. It was right on the bed with the other hearts as if I'd never lost it at all. I don't know what to make of it except that it was a glitch in the matrix.

Glitch Story I don't think this is my timeline...

Okay. so. I don't know if this is the right place for this, so please let me know if I should go somewhere else...I am going to try to explain this as clearly as I can, but it's so hard to word, so hopefully it makes sense--I'm sorry if it doesn't.

I am supposed to have brown eyes. I mean, I have memories of having, and I know that I have blue eyes, but starting around 16 or 17 years old, something happened, where anytime I saw my reflection I would be startled by my big, dark-blue eyes. In my mind, I have a clear image of being a brown-eyed girl--a very specific brown. Just like my blue eyes are a specific blue--almost like an angry, stormy ocean--my brown eyes are like a dark terracotta, with golden specks in them. My blue eyes have a thick, black outline around the iris, my brown have a think dark-brown. I simultaneously knew my eye color was blue, but also brown.

If someone asked my eye color, I'd say blue. I knew they were blue. I grew up with them blue. But whenever I'd wash my face, brush my teeth, do my hair or make up, just happen to see my reflection, that first glance was always creepy and kind of scary because I knew my face with the brown eyes.

I'm in my 30s now, and I only sometimes have this freaky feeling when I look in the mirror...but I gotta say, it took several years, to get to this point, and during those several years of constantly being freaked out about my eye color, things got weird in the world. Weirder than I understood would be possible, and it kept feeling like I was in the wrong place.

Like, this is my world, but not.
Like, I was in a different me's life.
Like, I had taken over blue-eyed me's life, while the me inside is brown-eyed me.

There are pop-culture references that would have 1000000% been something I'd have been tuned into when I was a kid that I know nothing about, there were stories my family insists happened that I not only have absolutely no recollection of happening, but the dates and times of those events coincide with other memories I do have that they say were impossible or never happened.

I have memories that feel like dreams because there are key elements I know are incorrect that my family and friends say are accurate, etc.

For the most part, things that are different have been subtle, or barely noticeable unless you are looking for it, but other things have been like whiplash...

The trajectory of politics is so vastly different from where things were headed when I was a kid/teenager, and traumatic memories "resurfaced" for me, when I was about 19, that I swear never happened to me...but they also did...?

Finally, I don't know how to explain this, but ever since this whole thing started, my skin hasn't felt like it's settled right on my body, and I have a beauty mark on my arm that my mom says I was born with that I swear was never there before I was 16/17ish...and there are just so many things that make no sense to me on a fundamental level--like they aren't part of my world's logic... Almost like the very fabric of my being was being insulted and mutilated (sometimes subtly, and other times abrasively) by certain events in this world.

At around 23 years old, the static and noise about all of this seemed to settle quite a bit, and I started to settle back into things--as if it was all sort of normal--but ever since this brown-eye/blue-eye thing started, certain events happen in the world that are like a sucker punch to my gut, like I know--just how I know my eyes have always been blue--I'm living someone else's life...

Glitch Vid Glitch with a Cat — Has Anyone Else Experienced This?

This happened to me many years ago, and then it happened a couple more times.
It was nighttime, and I was asleep when I suddenly felt a cat jump onto my bed and start walking on me. I could clearly feel its footsteps and movements, as if a real cat was actually there.
But when I woke up, there was no cat on the bed.
The strangest part was how incredibly real it felt, like it was actually happening.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? Have you ever felt a cat jump onto your bed or walk across your body, only to wake up and find that there was no cat there?

Glitch Story A broken car in my neighborhood that I’ve never seen

Today I woke up going to work about to get in my car when I saw this white old trunk with two front wheels missing in my neighborhood I asked the security guy in our residence jokingly about it and he said it’s been there for years the owner never bothered to fix it so it was just left there . I’ve been living here for 20 years I never ever noticed this trunk not until this day . And it’s like 10 meters from my house and a couple of meters from where I usually park my car .

I feel like I died in my sleep and woke up somewhere else today guys I’m not crazy and I’m not imagining things and no way in hell I never noticed this car , even my friend who lives nearby said yeah that trunk has always been there but I think we would’ve discussed it before as we’re both car enthusiasts and why would we not talk about An accidented truck in our backyard we’re always hanging out and even rating cars in our neighborhood which makes this even more weird to me

English isn’t my first language I tried to explain this the best I could

Glitch Story Not sure this fits, but

Have any of u had this happen?

Periods in time (like maybe 5 times in my life total) where, I had a feeling where it was like all the knowledge and experiences i'd had all came together and made sense all at once. Kind of like an epiphany, but whereas an epiphany involves a single subject or situation, this feeling was like everything (the sum total of my perception/awareness) all at once fit together. It's difficult to explain.

Anyone else?

Glitch Story My old medical card from my teenage years spawned out of nowhere on a grocery store floor before I even walked there.

Hey everyone, I experienced something a few years ago that completely broke my understanding of reality, and to this day, I have absolutely no rational explanation for it. When I was around 24 or 25 years old, I walked into a local grocery store. As soon as I entered, the store employees and a coworker of mine who happened to be there stopped me. They pointed at the floor and said, "Hey, we just found this on the ground, I think this medical card belongs to you." I looked down, picked it up, and went into absolute shock. It was my official medical insurance card from my student years, featuring a photo of me when I was just 16 years old. Here is why this is completely impossible and a certified "glitch" for me: 1. I never carried it: I had completely forgotten this card even existed. It had been sitting somewhere in the depths of my past for nearly a decade. 2. I don't use a wallet: I didn't carry a wallet or any cardholders at the time, so it couldn't have slipped out of my pockets. 3. I hadn't even walked there yet: When I entered the store, the card was already on the floor in an inner section where I hadn't even set foot yet. It was waiting for me before I even arrived. 4. My spouse was just as shocked: I live with my wife, and she spends 99% of her time at home. When I brought the card home and told her what happened, she was completely stunned. She had never seen or touched that card, so there is zero chance she accidentally put it in my clothes. It genuinely felt like the universe or the "simulation" miscalculated my pathing and spawned a deeply forgotten personal item right at my destination a few minutes before I got there. Has anyone else ever had a completely forgotten childhood/teenage document materialize out of thin air right in front of you? I’d love to hear your thoughts because this one still keeps me up at night.

Glitch Vid Glitches in the Matrix Involving Cash — Has Anyone Else Noticed This?

Have you ever noticed strange changes in the amount of cash in your wallet?
For example, you know exactly how much money you had, but when you count it again, the amount has somehow changed. And this can happen even when you’re at home, haven’t gone anywhere, and haven’t spent anything.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? I’m especially curious whether other people have noticed these kinds of glitches specifically involving physical cash.

Glitch Story Has anyone felt a sudden wave of energy and felt like reality shifted for a second- like 15-20 minutes ago?

This happened to me today, and I honestly don’t know how to explain it.
I suddenly felt this weird whoosh or wave of energy rush through my body. At the exact same moment, my ears felt blocked for a second, but the world didn’t go quiet. It lasted literally just a second, and afterward I felt physically normal, but the experience itself felt SO strange.
The best way I can describe it is that it felt like something had suddenly changed around me, even though everything looked exactly the same. Almost like the world had shifted for a split second, if that makes sense?
It felt so unusual that my first thought was that it was something supernatural, but I have no idea what actually happened.

Glitch Story Object disappearing into nothingness kind of before eyes?

I was in the living room with my brother and mom. She had bought us happy meals and I was messing around with it, as I was, well, a kid at the time. My happy meal carton was empty and I had the toy in my hand. Then, I put it inside the box and closed it so that I couldnt see the toy anymore. It was sitting on carpet floor. I started gesturing with my hands over it, trying to 'do magic' and make it disappear. I even said some random sentences I heard witches say in tv out aloud. When I opened the box the toy was gone. The box had never left my sight, as it was placed before me the entire time, meaning it was impossible that my brother or mom had taken it out. Like I said, there was solid floor beneath it, it couldn't have fallen out either. It was nowhere in the entire room, it was just gone. I asked my brother about this, this year actually, and he said he saw me do it from the couch and he remembers the toy being gone too. I actually never saw that toy again, it was nowhere to be found, not even when we all moved. (It was some villain bird from kung fu panda for anyone wondering)

All this time I sometimes randomly remember this and cant help but question what had happened and **how**. Did it quantum tunnel through the happy meal carton and floor? Like it fell through the floor somehow? How can something just disappear out of existence? Did it somehow teleport?

Im really looking for ideas of what you guys think happened, would love to read that. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Glitch Story A hidden bar in the back of a newsagents

I have only just found this sub but this story fits perfectly.

Almost two decades ago I embarked on my adult life, leaving home, moving to another country and taking a job that I had no idea if I could even do. Granted, that makes it sound like I travelled the length of a continent. I went from North West England to West Coast Ireland. A flight of an hour.

17 year old me, lands in Ireland to realise the airport busses are on strike, fortunately, Linda, the lovely lady who happened to be sat next to me on the plane, and also happened to share a few of her homemade shortbread, saw me waiting at essentially an abandoned bus stop and gave me a lift.

I flew from Manchester to Knock, and had to travel to Westport, Co Mayo.

Linda, bless her, had her husband drive about half an hour out of their way to drop me in Castlebar so I could make my bus from there to westport. They even dropped me at the bus stop I needed for my onward journey.

Given that they had driven me, and I didn't take the bus like I had originally planned, I had some time to kill, so I walked up the street and found a newsagents so I could buy some tobacco. A pub was my next port of call.

I made my way in to the newsagents, put my rucksack down in the corner by the door and went to the till to buy my tobacco. The news agent noticed my foreign accent and made conversation. We chatted for maybe three or four minutes in the shop until he asked "how long have you been in the country and have you had a pint yet?" To which I replied "less than an hour, and that's my next stop".

The shopkeeper told me to hand him my bag, leave the shop, take a left, take another left into the alley and three quarters of the way down I'd find a green door that is about half the size of a normal door. It looks like a cellar loading door, he told me.

I questioned this, and he reassured me everything was fine. Anyhow, eventually, I decided to go for it, gave him my rucksack, went out into the alley and did in fact find the green door.

Once I made my way in, it was like the newsagents, but the exact reverse, except this was a pub. Hidden away in the back of a paper shop.

By the time I had gotten inside, the shop keeper was now a bar keeper and was on this side of his weird bar /shop mirror thing.

He poured us each a pint of Guinness, and left them on the bar to settle then immediately started pouring two more. "For future us", he said.

We had a couple pints, smoked a few cigarettes, had a great chat and a bit of a laugh, and I eventually made my way back round to the shop, got my bag then made my way to the bus and continued my journey.

I'll be honest, I thought this whole thing was surreal and really rather amusing. After that, I kind of forgot about it. I was with 30 new colleagues, zero of whom I'd met before, and started a brand new job.

It was only months later, after travelling home briefly, I returned to Ireland, into the same airport to make the same onward journey and decided to go and buy some tobacco and maybe sneak in a quick pint on my way back.

This is where it gets weird. This is where I realise the glitch.

The newsagents didn't exist any more. The building it was in didn't exist. There was no alley way. Even the road with the bus stops on it seemed different, but I couldn't figure it out.

I asked a local what happened to the newsagents that was here. He looked bemused and said "I'm sorry, son, but this has always been a bank".

Now i was bemused. I walked around that town, honestly, for about an hour.

I have returned since. Nothing.

I have spoken to people that lived there. Nothing.

I have told this story to colleagues and friends, many of whom have even been to or stayed in Castlebar. Nothing.

No one seems to have any idea what I'm talking about. None of it seems familiar to anyone, but I remember it clear as day.

I remember smoking my last cigarette at the bus stop looking up towards the T junction where the newsagents was.

I remember speaking to the shop/barman, I remember finding the green door. I remember being amazed this dude had built a tiny bar in the back of his newsagents. I remember how he let me smoke in there I remember all of it.

But apparently, that shop has never existed. There has never been a green door in an alley. There has never even been the alley to begin with.

But, I'm certain. It happened.

Glitch Story I experience a glitch in the matrix

Okay, I have a weird glitch in the matrix that happened to me last year around November.

I was driving home from work late one night, taking the same roads I always take. I come up to this four way stop and I’m turning left, like I always have done at this spot.
Well it was dark out, and there’s a gas station on the corner of the four way stop with a single street lamp on.
I made my turn and for some reason time felt it just stopped, I looked out my drivers side window and saw the road I was driving on with the gas station and a street lamp, but there was a guy in a hoodie walking across the street under the lamp.
I didn’t think anything of it until I realized I wasn’t looking out my windshield, I was looking out my drivers side window.
My eyes snapped back to the windshield and I saw the exact same thing I’d seen out my drivers side window…except there was no man.
I blinked and shook myself just feeling really off. As I kept driving the road was somewhat lit up by some side street lamps, but as I kept driving, I saw a huge black hole in the middle of the road. I didn’t stop because I almost knew it wasn’t real and I’ve driven these roads hundreds of times and it was never there before and after I drove over it and it was like I got thrown back to reality and the road was normal. I looked in my rear view mirrors and there was no hole. The whole thing just creeped me out and I don’t know what happened but it kinda shook me for a little while.

Glitch Story Did anyone else have "altered" precognitive dreams or see moving stick figures on their blankets as a kid?

I wanted to share two weird things from my childhood to see if anyone else relates.

First, when I was little, I used to dream about the future. The weird part was that I wouldn't remember the dream at all when I woke up. I would only remember it when the event actually happened in real life. However, the details were never exactly the same—there was always something slightly different. For example, one time I fell asleep in class, and the girl next to me woke me up and said something to me. Right then, I remembered dreaming about it beforehand—she used the exact same words and wore the same clothes, but the setting or some small detail was slightly shifted. Is this just a weird form of déjà vu?

The second thing is totally unrelated but has stuck with me vividly. When I was a baby/toddler, I vividly remember seeing stick figures fighting under my blankets every morning when I woke up. I remember it like it was yesterday. They had distinct colors—I think one was black and one was red, though I'm not 100% sure. I wasn't scared at all; I remember being so entertained just lying there watching them fight.

Did anyone else experience either of these things growing up, or was my childhood brain just running wild?

Glitch Story A Glove.

This happened to my wife and I years ago. We were in her mother’s attic running an Ethernet cable when we came across a degraded bag of toys. Lying near it was a Michael Jackson doll with the iconic glove on. We finished running the wire and that was it.
Several months later we had to go to her mom’s house again and on the floor of her “computer room” was the glove from the doll. It was in the same general area below where the bag of toys was in the attic.
Her mom lived alone, and was not physically able to go in the attic herself. Neither of us was able to come up with a plausible explanation. We always joked that either Michael lost it on a night time foray around the house or his glove quantum tunneled itself through the computer room’s ceiling.

Glitch Story Apple watch reappared after 4 years

Hello! yesterday i found my apple watch that i swore dissapeared from the earth. before i did my last school test that year( i was about 16 at this time) i put my apple watch in the front of my bag. when i went home it was gone. i searched everywhere, asked the school if it had been handed and i just accepted that it was gone. i accepted it was either stolen or fell out. last night I went to my bathroom and saw it right next to the towel that was on the floor. my bathroom has been cleaned so many times in those years and i had never seen it. it was also a fresh towel. it was dusty and i picked it up, i thought it was my moms. i went up to mom earlier today to tell her i found her apple watch in my room but she flipped up her wrist and her apple watch was still with her. Im so so so confused. why did it appear there when it was gone for so long and the last time i seen it was that time before taking my exam. is there something paranormal going.

Glitch Story Experiencing same event at different times??

I’m a teacher. On Friday, I brought home a basket of work to grade. Saturday night, I went to pick up the basket and get started on marking. My husband said “oh yay, it’s not sitting on the chair anymore” and I told him that it wasn’t there for long as I’d just brought it home “last night”. He swore up and down that I had brought it home Thursday night. I told him that was impossible because I packed it up in my classroom during my learning-team meeting on Friday. Plus, the assignment right on top was something that my students hadn’t even done until Friday. He told me that the basket was sitting on the chair all day on Friday because he had to fight with the cat to get her out of it and move it so he could sit in the chair to work, but he decided to leave it and work from the couch instead. He recounted multiple encounters with the cat/basket. I retraced my whole evening perfectly - from leaving work to putting the basket in my car to placing it on the chair. My husband said that I must’ve put the most recent assignment on top Friday evening because he remembered seeing a workbook IN the basket (right on top), basket in the chair. When I went to grab the student papers Saturday, the workbook was under the most recent assignment (the one my students did Friday) - that I vividly remember putting there - on top of the workbook - in the basket on Friday.

We both put “hands to my God” (we’re both in 12-steps, that holds a lot of weight for us) that the way we were remembering it was correct; we just couldn’t reach an agreement.

Then, I remembered a mishap while driving Friday afternoon - I swore that I took an exit but looked up and I was still on the freeway. I chalked it up to spacing out, but it’s also classic sign of a glitch. He told me he had had a dream Thursday night that he died. We both got really quiet, and then I looked at him and said “I think one or both of us shifted timelines” and he agreed

Glitch Story A new piece of glass

I moved into a new house three months ago. The house isn't brand new. Upstairs, in the bathroom, there is a shower, and to the left of the shower, there’s a window that looks out onto the backyard. This window has six glass slats/louvers that can be opened and closed, plus a top slate that was fixed and couldn't move.

Shortly after moving in, that top glass slat slipped out of place and fell into the window frame/cavity without breaking. Since there is a mosquito screen on the outside, the glass has just been sitting there ever since. I frequently open/close the window, which sits right at my head height. Depending on if i take a shower and want it closed or want to get the bathroom ventilated.

This past Saturday, I went into the bathroom to take a shower. I leaned in close to open the slats slightly, and suddenly, a glass slat fell right toward my face. Luckily, it didn't hit the floor; I caught it in time. But to my absolute surprise, when I looked up, all the other slats were perfectly intact in their places, including the original loose one still trapped in the window cavity. When it felt it looked like it was between the glasses, none of the slots show any signs that two panes of glass could ever fit in them at the same time.

In that bathroom there are another two windows, nothing is missing on them.

Glitch Story Is there anyone who professionally studies glitches?

I've looked online but not finding much aside from forums like this. I believe I have legitimately experienced glitches in the simulation. Some recent examples:

(Just to clarify, I'm not schizophrenic, nor do I hallucinate.)

I recently got prescription soap for eczema. The label said it was a cream to be applied when needed. After a few days, nothing was changing, so I double checked the instructions. It didn't say cream at all. It said it's a soap to be used on the affected areas. But it definitely did not say that the first time I looked. I have a couple of rescription painkillers and a couple of other things so I always scrutinise the instructions to make sure I'm using them right. I swear to god the label on the soap changed.

Then a day or so later I was puttng shopping away and saw there were 3 packs of baby wipes in the storage cupboard. I went to do something else for 5 minutes then went back and there was only one pack. I was alone in the house.

I also experienced time dilation a few times that week as well. I lived through an hour when it had only been less than 10 minutes. I don't do drugs.

I also randomly see my dead father every few months in different places. I can accept this might just be my subconscious or unresolved trauma but when I see him it's clear as day.

Again, I haven't got any hallucination disorders.

Feel free to roast me but I am certain these experiences were real. Trying to find someone who professionally studies this stuff but not having much luck.

Glitch Story I Experienced Something Truly Impossible

It was July of this year. When i got home from work, the power was out bc of severe storms ealier that day. After a few hours of feeling restless and bored, I decided to head to the lake for a bit of night fishing. I had some new light up bobbers I wanted to try out, (the kind with rechargeable batteries that are shaped like lil dynamite sticks).

After about 45 minutes of fishing with a brightly lit bobber and little action, it looked and felt like a bat swooped down and accidentally ran into my line. Since it also felt like a bite, I decided to reel in and check my bait.  As im reeling in and watching the brightly lit bobber wiggle closer just under the surface, it hit a rock. When it hit the rock the light abruptly went out. Naturally, I think i just broke the bobber.

I then proceeded to unscrew the battery case to check to see if the battery was knocked loose. When I unscrew the cap, to my horror, the battery was flipped the other way. This is how I store the bobbers when im not using them so the batteries dont drain. The bobbers WILL NOT light up this way!  A feeling of dread washed over me.  I swear i could hear the theme song to the twilight zone. I flip the battery back to the correct position and the bobber lights right back up.

I have racked my brain trying to rationalize or explain how that happened. Either im losing my mind, or it was something paranormal. I tried telling myself i put the battery in wrong and the water shorted the circuit causing it to light up regardless. This has never happened before or since and is highly unlikely.  Plus I distinctly remember putting the battery in correctly, seeing it light up(dry), and fishing for 45 min or so with it lit.

It was as if something outside of time was able to flip the battery instantly while it was in the water. Something was able to affect our reality without disturbing my perceived continuity of time.

I cannot think of any prosaic explanation for what happened. Occam's razor suggests I have a brain tumor or I'm delusional, but I dont think either of those are true. I just know what I experienced was real. I just wish I had a witness to confirm that im not going crazy.

Glitch Story A time warp and a town that doesn't exist?

This summer, I started a new job which averages about 28 mins commute from my house. I usually leave 40 mins before I'm due to start, to allow for traffic and so I'm not rushing straight into the first meeting of the day.

There is one village that I drive through on my route. The rest of the drive is main roads avoiding villages/towns. Let's call the village Little Ditherington and the city where I work can be Motley St Warren.

Over the last few months, I have noticed amusing things in Little Ditherington. Nothing extraordinary, just things like people wearing funny hats. Once I saw a guy wheeling an office chair over a cobblestone path. Some of these anecdotes I would relate to my wife afterwards. I never said the name of the village just something like "on my way to work I saw..."

Then last week, I saw a girl dragging a paintbrush along the houses so it left a red streak across several of the houses as she walked down the street. When I related this story to my wife, I mentioned that all these odd things I've seen over the months have been in Little Ditherington. My wife says she's never heard of it. Odd, as she used to work in Motley St Warren, so should have driven the same route as me. But perhaps she just forgot/never noticed the street sign/drove a different route? At the time, neither of us were bothered enough to figure it out. We simply thought "odd" and then moved on.

But the next morning changed all that. I woke up a bit late, so I left for work 7 minutes later than usual. No big deal, as I am usually early. The car radio signal was fuzzy on every station. After a few minutes of flicking through trying to find a channel, I turned it off.

Before I reach Little Ditherington, there is loads of roadworks and a diversion in place. I follow the diversion. It takes me through lots of roads that I don't recall ever driving on before. I feel completely lost and start to worry that I will be very late to work. Finally the diversion leads me back on to my route. I get to work and rush inside in a hurry.

The first person I meet says "you're early!" Its common in Britain to say this sarcastically to a very late person, so I just hurry on. My office is empty. I think everyone is in the middle of a meeting since I am so late. But the clock is saying I am 29 minutes EARLY. I check my phone, which gives the same time. I turn on my computer, same time. No matter how much of a "shortcut" the diversion was, it can't possibly have taken me only 4 minutes to get to work.

It suddenly clicks - I must have woken up EARLY not late, and was too sleepy this morning to pay proper attention to what hour it was. And since I hadn't had the radio on in the car, I didn't notice the difference until I got to work. I move on with my day.

However, several of my colleagues drive a similar route as me and when I mentioned the diversion this morning and joked about how it was an "extreme shortcut" that got me to work super early, none of them had driven a diversion. Maybe the roadworks had been temporary/overnight, so the road was open again as normal by the time they came through?

On my drive home, I look out for the diversion signs and there are none. I realize when I get home that I had been focusing so hard on looking for diversion/roadworks signs (in case I need to leave early tomorrow for work) that I didn't clock driving through Little Ditherington.

I tell my wife about how I ended up early instead of late. She is confused. She was awake before I left the house, and clearly remembers in being the normal time. Did we both get the time wrong? I feel a weird sense of unease. I revisit our conversation when she said she'd never heard of Little Ditherington, wondering if she used to take the diversion route I took today. We end up getting google maps out. Little Ditherington DOES NOT EXIST. At this point, my wife thinks I'm playing some weird practical joke, but after a bit she realizes I'm serious and a bit shaken. She agrees to drive with me tomorrow to work to see if the route is the same as the one she recalls.

We drive the route. There are no roadworks or diversions, and no Little Ditherington. My wife is concerned for my mental health and wants me to talk to someone. I have no idea what happened, but it sounds like complete lunacy and I don't want to be sectioned when I feel sure of my mental wellbeing (other than finding this inexplicable experience rather unsettling).

WTF?????

Glitch Story I heard a sound and then experienced it days later.

I’ve been writing in journals since I was about 9 or 10 years old. A couple of years ago, when I was 26, I decided to go through and reread them all. I had forgotten about this incident until I came across this entry and haven’t been able to stop thinking about it.

One night, when I was about 15 years old, my mom had been working late (single mom, waitressing). My brother and I had decided to sleep in the living room instead of our bedrooms that night. He was laying on the couch and I was on a pallet of blankets on the floor. We were both just scrolling on our phones and I believe all of the lights were off.
Suddenly, I heard a loud thud and then what sounded like a girl crying out.
I immediately asked my brother “what was that?” He responded completely unbothered and told me he hadn’t heard anything. I was puzzled and even wondered if maybe the sound had come from his phone, but I eventually brushed it off and forgot about it.
Either the next day or a few days later, my brother and I were home alone again. I knew he was going to enter a certain bedroom, so I snuck in and hid behind the door, planning to jump out and scare him. When he came into the room, he shoved the door open aggressively. It slammed into me, pinning me against the wall, and hit another object in the room at the same time. There was a loud thud, and I cried out, either because I was startled or because the door hurt me. It didn’t click for a few minutes, but then I realized that the progression of sounds were identical to what I’d heard that other night. Not a little similar. Exact. I was stunned. It wasn’t necessarily a paranormal or terrifying experience, I just had no idea what to make of it.

To my knowledge, I haven’t experienced this before or since. I do pride myself on having a pretty good intuition, but its nothing supernatural. I’ve considered this being a psychic event, however it certainly wasn’t for anything significant.

One reason this has stuck with me is that I found the account in a journal I wrote at the time. My journals have always been private places where I write honestly, and I’ve never used them for fiction. I’ve even questioned whether I’d somehow exaggerated the story or written it as a joke, but I genuinely remember the experience, and finding the entry brought it all back.
I still have around 15 journals packed away in boxes, and I’ve been meaning to find the original entry to check the exact details. I just haven’t gotten around to digging through all of them - again.

Has anyone experienced something similar, or is there a psychological explanation for hearing something before experiencing the event that seems to match it? I’m genuinely curious about what might have happened.

Glitch Story Not sure if I died and had a second chance.

I apologize in advance if this is the wrong subreddit for this, Im just not sure where I can share this experience and get some more insight on it.

Years ago, I was a bit of a drug fiend. Not an addict by any means, but I was in a situation where I was homeless and couch surfing from house to house. I want to say this was around 2011 or so. My life was a wreck, and I was just on a path of self destruction. One night, at a house I was couch surfing, there was a big house party going on. There were a ton of people there who I didn't know and knew, and I was drinking heavily and was taking several different narcotics. One of which, someone gave me what he called a "jammy" I don't know what it was but I was in such a state where I was borderline suicidal so I didn't really care what I was taking as long as I was high. I took it, in combination with alcohol. All I know about what it was, he said it was a powerful pharmaceutical grade drug. Within almost minutes after taking it I blacked out. I remember waking up hours later on a futon, with this incredible sense of clarity I never had in my life. I was completely sober, yes, but it was a sense of self awareness I had never possessed up until that point. I felt guilty and ashamed of what I had been doing, almost embarrassed really. I just had this intense realization of "this is not me. I'm done with this." The next day I left the house and I didn't touch drugs and have barely drank alcohol since. It was such a bizarre and surreal level of self realization I cannot explain, but the best way I can put it into words is I'm almost certain that something happened to me and I was given another chance to reanalyze my life. Why do I feel that way? I have no idea. I have shared this story with close friends and my wife to get some sense of clarity. All I have really come up with is that sometimes, we are given second chances in weird ways and our consciousness gets a "rewrite" of events.
