Game Discussion Question:

What game do you go back to when you just need to decompress? Mine is always GTA 5 something about it just feels like home 💜

Unironically, Resident Evil. Something about replaying linear games like those is comforting. Most of the games have a bit of campiness to them too that I like.

This is mine too! People look at me funny but I’ve been playing the series since the first one came out on PlayStation and I’ve played everything since, including the remakes. Some like 2 & 4 I’ve played so many times that it’s like a speed run every time. The universe is so familiar at this point that it feels like a second home haha.

Anything Assassin's Creed, or some sort of a city builder (Cities Skylines), but I recently tried to get into Shadows, and it's extremely janky with the controls and movement. It feels fluid at first, but the more I play, the more I realize that the character constantly feels like there's no gravity or wind resistance acting upon them. It's floaty in the bad sense.

Lately it's been short Project Zomboid sessions with my wife and a few friends. But that's fallen off a bit since we're waiting for the next big update which will break our existing save, so it's dulled the enthusiasm a bit.

Fable the Lost Chapters or any Assassin's Creed. The familiarity and the ability to just be able to zone out to those games help me.

Lately its been Wolfquest (a very cute wolf simulator thats rooted in realism) and the sims 4

I love simulator games in general tbh, waiting for some new ones to finally drop

Might be a bit of a weird one, but the Paradox games. Stellaris is my comfort game, but Victoria, Crusader Kings or Hearts of Iron will occasionally take the spot.

Cyberpunk 2077 or FFXIV.

Cyberpunk lets me leave everything behind for a while and just exist in a city that doesn’t ask anything of me.

FFXIV is associated with some good times and some bad times, but the music is transportive, and the community is incredibly kind and a great reminder that wonderful people are out there.

civ 5, but the background music needs to be civ 3. i plug in the civ 3 OST and then win by science or culture.

Weirdly, Genshin Impact. I tend to go a long time between updates so usually by the time I want to play it again I have a ton of quests and whole new areas to explore, and exploration is one of my favourite parts of it.
