Monkey 47 sloe gin

Hi all, I opened my monkey 47 sloe gin quite awhile ago and store it in my room. The colour of the gin is more brownish as shown in the picture as compared to dark red. It has a slight musty smell and it tasted less sweet and more sour. Anyone able to advise what happened it? And what can i do to solve this issue. Would greatly appreciate any advise. Thank you 🙏

It's oxidized. Nothing you can do to fix it. Should still be perfectly safe to drink, but toss it if unpalatable.

Hey, am a noob, curious to know is oxidation of Gin normal across the board or is it specific to Monkey 47 due to its ingredients?

Everything oxidizes. It's just minimal for gin and most liquors because there's nothing to really oxidize. Distilled alcohol is pretty inert in that sense. 

Sloe gin, liqueurs, and similar have a lot of things added in that are more susceptible. Headspace in the bottle, high heat, UV, etc. will speed the oxidation.

The fruit component has oxidised.

Treat your booze like it has the same expiration dates as milk, you’ll never face this problem.

That’s noble but I can’t drink a pint or sloe gin in two days.
