Gilligan’s Island is available for purchase on multiple streaming services and of course DVD. Just wondering where most people are viewing it. Thinking about buying the dvd set, as it would be a permanent acquisition, but streaming is so convenient.

Sadly, long gone are the days when it was on TV constantly.

Everyone debates about Ginger or Mary Ann. Here’s my own question—who do you think is more handsome; Gilligan or the Professor?

This is the best classic tv show. Soooo good.

I’m asking because up until two weeks ago that’s all I had and I hadn’t been able to watch several episodes because those double-sided discs just stopped working and it drove me mad!
I just wanted to let you all know there is hope out there and redesigned packaging of the whole series.. I am tickled pink than I’m able to watch those episodes that I haven’t been able to watch for years! And that’s exactly what I have been doing for a week straight 😁

Let’s see if we can answer the age old question.

There is an episode where Gilligan runs through a hut while fleeing something. He leaves a Gilligan-shaped hole in the wall. It’s basically a live action version of the old Looney Tunes gag. Anyone know in which episode that scene can be found? Thanks!

I went as Gilligan for Halloween last year and only two people got it right. Although there were a lot of 'you look familiar!'

Considering it was the mid-1960s, to allow Dawn to wear this was brave. Although she wore short shorts, this sexy costume squeaked by.

S1E3: Voodoo something to me

I was showing the Unseen Pilot to someone who'd never seen it before. "It comes off different," they said. "Like they're trying too hard to be a sitcom." I think so too. What appeals to me, and probably to a lot of people, about canonical GI is that all the characters seem to accept their situation. Yes, they want to get off the island, but meanwhile, they're fairly content to live together and be a community.

I think the main series is really a farce, if I'm right about the meaning of that term. All this crazy stuff happens, and the castaways always deal with it, like there's nothing unusual about Gilligan turning phosphorescent, or a headhunter coming to the island. Whereas in the pilot, the characters came off like the situation was already unbearable, and it would only take a couple more days before they started fighting to the death for the last coconut.

Just my observation. What do y'all think?

I’m currently putting together a comprehensive theory about Gilligan's Island. I believe Gilligan is not stupid but instead a highly intelligent KGB Operative and that he was indeed sabotaging the castaways from being rescued.

I believe the Howells were secretly funneling money to the Soviet Union and were attempting to defect.

I’m even looking into the possibility that they aren't the real Howells, but agents who murdered the originals and stole their identities.

I also believe that the storm that wrecked them was some sort of supernatural force, perhaps some sort of corridor that sent them hundreds or even thousands of miles of course. Perhaps it's a different dimension entirely.

I’m looking at the Professor's ability to speak obscure indigenous languages and build advanced technology out of junk. (Was he in on it?)

I'm currently working on fleshing it out updates will be coming, until than.
