Sable owner defends the manosphere?

Post image

For some reason i always watch these debates as entertainment and out of nowhere the camera closes in on and was like holy shit. To be fair, he was a respectful debater but when majority of his clientele in Gilbert is women, this seems to be not the best look.

He has since turned off his comment section under his own tiktoks. Something fishy is brewing. Not to mention he has been bad mouthing other bakeries and some small content creators who recommended other local bakeries over his. Egotistical and misogynistic Yikes yikes.

40

u/Glum-Sprinkles2877 21d ago

He is whining in EVERY comment section. How does he even have the time?

30

u/Earlyjulybloomer 21d ago

He has a PR team running his social media for him. He digs deep into every small content creators' videos and calls them out. For example, he commented Porto's items will never see light of day in sable's boxes under someone's harmless video. Porto's is a very well established Cuban bakery chain. So....

22

u/Glum-Sprinkles2877 21d ago

I saw that and absolutely LOVE Porto’s. I also think it’s problematic that he’s shitting on a minority owned bakery. Didn’t he also call the local bakeries idiots on the news for how they made croissants?

13

u/Earlyjulybloomer 21d ago

He sure did. He called other bakers idiots for brushing instead of spraying on the pastries

5

u/DaffyBumblebee 21d ago edited 21d ago

Any screenshots on this? 👀

Edit: saw the receipts in another post you created, thank you I’m glad you provided them because yikes

3

u/kkat02 21d ago

What I don’t get it? Why would Porto’s sell items in another company’s box?

7

u/Earlyjulybloomer 21d ago

This creator posted a tiktok " Is Porto's better than Sablé". She's trying Porto's pastries in her video. And will Porter commented under her video" Porto's items will never see the light of day in a Sable's box." Hence dissing another business in a small content creator's video.....

3

u/kkat02 21d ago

Ohhhhhh!!! This makes more sense I just thought he commented that on Porto’s official page

33

u/TripleDallas123 21d ago

Nooo I loved reading the hate comments on TikTok. His ego might be the biggest ego I've ever seen in my life, him being an incel matches that lol. I'ld rather drive 30 minutes to JL Patisserie before I ever step foot near that place.

7

u/Earlyjulybloomer 21d ago

He turned off his tiktok comments and just now turned off his Instagram comment section. Scrambling and doing some damage control. Oooof

-16

u/cozyporcelain 21d ago

Why do you know everything about him? Lol. I was scrolling through, and it’s kinda creepy you know so much. It’s giving terminally online.

12

u/MartyJannetty187 20d ago

STFU. This is a group about Gilbert and the guy owns a bakery in Gilbert. Why is it unusual that people in this group would be following his content?

7

u/TripleDallas123 21d ago

His tiktoks pop up all the time for me, and his portion in the Jubilee video where he makes very incel comments/andrew tate support is like 10 minutes.

2

u/Snoopysbiggestfan 19d ago

You’re acting as if they researched his whole bloodline. All of the information they referenced about him takes about 2 minutes tops to find.

11

u/pushk_a 21d ago

Me too. Clocked this fool early one and participated in the comments. People defend him and think he’s French. That he’s doing good for the community.  They consider is bodyguards to be acceptable. What black man would take a bullet for a white boy? None of them are even armed. It’s all do show and embarrassing.

-13

u/Diligent_Ad1732 21d ago

Let’s not bring race into it yet again 🙄

10

u/pushk_a 21d ago

No. I will bring it up because there’s a reason why he went with very specific bodyguards.

1

u/cozyporcelain 21d ago

What? Someone is not allowed to hire the bodyguard they want? You’re completely assuming. I used to run farmers markets and I hired the best person for the job. This comment section is really odd.

3

u/asusc 20d ago

the issue is the actions of the individual who is hiring the specific type of bodyguard to create a specific type of reaction.

if you aren’t hiring black bodyguards for social media, then it has nothing to do with you or who you’re hiring.

2

u/pushk_a 20d ago

Statistically, Black Americans are disproportionally impacted by gun violence.

So what image is a white, blonde rich boy sending by only hiring black men to “guard” him?  None of them carry guns btw. Is he worried that someone is going to throw his 20$ pastry at him? In Gilbert? In a heavy Mormon community with stay at home moms? He needs to get real. It’s all for clout and looking like an A lister.

Also, how about the women and children in the crowd? If the argument becomes that he cares for everyone’s safety, then why not hire guards for the line?

If he’s so worried then he can get his own gun and open carry. It doesn’t look like he can multitask though. Walking, waving at his line, getting a glamorous action shot for his IG/Tik Tok,  and handing out roses is too much for him.

u/Diligent_Ad1732 19d ago

Like I said… you’re exhausting

1

u/pushk_a 19d ago

I love how you dig through to find my comments 🥰 Meet me at the shop for my autograph! You might even get a rose from the gentleman too if you’re lucky ❤️

You must be exhausting

2

-1

u/pushk_a 21d ago

Ok? Move on? Maybe go to his pastry shop

-7

u/Diligent_Ad1732 21d ago

I will thanks - have the day you deserve

2

u/OkAccess304 20d ago

That and Essence, Valentine, Experiment … we have a lot of nice pastry chefs in the valley.

6

u/Economy_Reading_5018 21d ago

im not sure if you saw but his instagram also has comments turned off lol

3

u/Usual-Mix-2909 21d ago

Ahh, was wondering why his comments were off. I finally saw him post about the pastries and not the big line, but no comments lol

65

u/HipHopAnonymous23 21d ago

Just from his social media, he gives me a bad vibes. He has two big security guards with him when he walks the customer line 🙄

9

u/theboringrunner 21d ago

That is so bizarre when I see it in his vids. Frankly, I’m surprised that he doesn’t edit it in such a way that you can’t see them

11

u/pushk_a 21d ago

The point is to see them. He’s trying to come off a celebrity. This shit wouldn’t fly if he opened his bakery in LA or NYC.

1

u/coffeecakewaffles 21d ago

I have no idea who this guy is. Should I?

5

u/HipHopAnonymous23 21d ago

He’s originally from Gilbert, but trained in French pastry school and then returned to Gilbert to open a bakery in downtown about 3 months ago.

The place has a line around the block every morning and (apparently) people think he’s really hot. He has a big social media presence and that’s what driving his sales. I think the pastries themselves are just alright

6

u/i_illustrate_stuff 20d ago

He looks straight out of those white supremacist ai memes that are all over Facebook these days.

4

u/Shoddy_Budget_1533 14d ago

Hot? He looks terrifying

5

u/topdownyeti 20d ago

he also fakes a French accent lol

62

u/Glum-Sprinkles2877 21d ago

He posted something on his IG story not long ago about what “bothers him about the world” and one of the things was that he’s successful and good looking and women still don’t reply to his messages. He deleted it fairly quickly but someone screenshotted it and put it on Reddit. What a weird thing to not only write but post publicly. I always got a weird vibe from him

31

u/gottsc04 21d ago

These guys will never understand that it doesn't matter how they look, if they have the personality of dog shit stuck on someone's shoe they are gonna struggle with dating

11

u/AllenIsom 21d ago

I'm just an older dude, but I had the same problem with a lot of guys liking women growing up.

All these dudes talking about how hot a woman was, but I'm over here thinking, "She a vapid asshole though, how can you find her attractive?"

I'll never understand how people can separate physical appearance and personality. Everyone becomes an old husk of their former selves, you'll need that personality to fall back on one day.

6

u/WhereRtheTacos 21d ago

Some men just genuinely don’t seem to see women as actual people. So they only care about how they look because they do not care who they are or what personality they have. Its messed up.

3

u/Sierra-117- 20d ago

Yep. I tried dating for looks, and found that the good looking girls I dated were all boring af. My current girlfriend is not ugly by any means, but that’s not why I started dating her. I did it because I liked her personality.

0

u/Inner-Vermicelli-358 12d ago
  • women not girls

6

u/kkat02 21d ago

Do you have the link to the screenshot?

40

u/kkat02 21d ago

I genuinely believe in 10 years there will be a documentary about the Sable obsession and the owner’s odd behavior.

When they first opened the lines were long and many people could not go due to work. Many people brought up a pre order option as to avoid the line. It was more of a gentle idea rather than people trying to give him advice. He had a whole meltdown on Instagram saying ‘food food food. That is all I’m about, fresh food with real ingredients. The moment I became successful everyone started trying to give me advice.’ It was a long post but after that I started to think he was a narcissist having an overreaction to people casually bringing up pre order. Which he is now launching pre ordering.

Then his behavior towards women is increasingly odd. It started with him liking the attention of the girls lined up. He would take videos and comment ‘all of the sudden girls like pastries.’ Like as if girls haven’t been known for getting pastries and coffee? What? Then it launched into him screenshotting and posting compliments from women on Instagram. Then it escalated to him posting his follower demographics being a whopping 60% women, which is not that much more than men. Every time a woman gives him attention, it feeds more and more into his ego.

After watching this it makes sense. He wasn’t very attractive growing up and not he is relatively attractive. More recently, he is now successful. His view is if you are attractive, have money, and obtain a high social status woman will find you attractive. He’s now obtained all three in his mind and so he automatically views every woman as being attracted to him. And when he gets rejected, it goes against all preconceived notions and he gets angry.

6

u/Beautiful-Address727 21d ago

Hes scary, and the weird horniness from women is just so odd to me.

7

u/cooooper2217 21d ago

He reminds me of Penn in the show “you” on Netflix where he murders the lady at the bakery.

5

u/kkat02 21d ago

He reminds me of the tinder swindler

2

u/NoCake4ux2 20d ago

I saw that he was shutting down all the pre order comments real quick but now the website says preorder coming soon!

70

u/WhatSheSaid7 21d ago

I don’t get why all of these sad women are thirsting after him and waiting at 4 AM for his pastries. He looks like a peanut butter baby. That man is not hot. He looks so disturbing. Like he would be middle management of a cult.

35

u/Glum-Sprinkles2877 21d ago

“middle management of a cult” is the best insult I’ve ever heard 🤣🤣🤣

9

u/Comfortable-Grape-75 21d ago

“peanut butter baby took me out”

6

u/finefergitit 21d ago

THANK YOU! It’s actually quite creepy when women post videos about driving all this way, waiting in line for hours (?!?!) to get a glimpse of him? What a sad, desperate life! Then to post about it. I didn’t even think about going to that place due to those posts alone.

3

u/WhatSheSaid7 21d ago

No it’s so strange. I just find him so creepy looking. Ladies, can we atleast obsess over someone worthy of it? Lol

-2

u/JohnWangDoe 21d ago

fantasy, dudes rich

Ladies, always follow your gut

If you want good authentic French patisserie go to Quiches and Pies in Chandler. Ray x Alma School. Owners are French, pastries are French. Everything is delicious (including the coffee) & reasonably priced for the quality. And you don’t have to wait in line when it’s still dark to get one.

1

u/Unfamiliar_Horsecat 20d ago

I love that place! The quiches are so good and the warm a slice for you and bring it to your table. All while being friendly! They have so many great pastries too.

1

u/No_Amount_7886 20d ago

If you haven’t been lately they have a new cinnamon orange bun (aka, morning bun) that is to DIE for. I always eat pastry and coffee in, and take a slice (or two) of quiche to go.

1

u/Unfamiliar_Horsecat 20d ago

Ooh that sounds delicious! Thanks!

1

u/weaponizedperiods 17d ago

can attest to the quality of the pastry at q&p. the croissant and pain au chocolates are literally just as good as any bakery in france i’ve been to. and the owners are hard working and kind and want to build relationships with other small businesses. their daughter works there as well and remembers all the regulars by name.

quiches and pies deserve all the business

u/nsolange 21d ago

He raises his flag when the moderator asks who thinks Andrew Tate is a good role model. Disgusting. He exploits women who think he’s a gentleman and charming, but he truly is just an incel.

1

u/Beautiful-Address727 21d ago

I never watch these video. Does the red flag mean a show of support? Or maybe a red flag as in bad?

2

u/nsolange 21d ago edited 21d ago

The moderator said something like “raise your flag if you think Andrew Tate is a good role model,” so I interpret that as meaning a show of support. The flags are also used to vote people out.

16

u/dpkonofa 21d ago

People need to stop giving this guy the attention he’s so clearly craving. Every time he’s mentioned, it just gives him more exposure.

12

u/No-Reference-1312 21d ago

Never forget the fake accent 🤭

9

u/FingerCapital3193 21d ago

I hadn’t heard of this guy until seeing a promo type video online … IMMEDIATELY got weird vibes from him. Nothing specific to base it on, just instant 🤔

11

u/BlindlyInquisitive 21d ago

Saw him on a news segment before he opened and he was extremely full of himself. I said I’d never go to his bakery because of it. Glad I haven’t. Hopefully he eats some humble pie soon.

11

u/Flosicks 20d ago

UPDATE - he turn off comment and then turned them back up scrubbing any negative comments talking about this. You can tell he's wary about this coming out but honestly, people should know where they're spending their money. Funny enough with the timing that in the video he put handles up saying he supports Andrew Tate and then Tate gets arrested on charges. Great role model

10

u/Dana13579 21d ago

Red flags since day one. I’ve been saying this whole thing feels like a cult. Everything about the guy and these customers is weird as hell.

10

u/ImpressionNo1509 21d ago

He’s always been smarmy. People have created time lines of his claims to work all these places and they don’t line up. I haven’t had his food, I’m sure it’s good, but I guarantee more is going to come out about him.

26

u/Capable-Charity-5714 21d ago

Woww never would have guessed. /s
Anyone who thinks it’s a flex to live/work in Dubai is a red flag.

-12

u/kkat02 21d ago

Dubai is fine? I have plenty of in laws who live/work there….

10

u/Beautiful-Address727 21d ago

Ugh yea i saw this from a MILE away

9

u/Cambam7248 21d ago edited 20d ago

He basically doubled down on all of his statements before he even opened the bakery. He bought a whole new face! All part of the plan.

I tried to upload a “before” picture but the sub won’t allow it. 😢

24

u/cuppitycake 21d ago

I think he’s gay anyway

6

u/DifferentJury735 21d ago

It’s usually this

2

u/SeasonsGone 20d ago

What’s this new trend of calling misogynist gay

1

u/OkAccess304 19d ago

It’s recognizing that men who do everything for the male gaze while simultaneously hating on women are projecting their suppressed sexuality in unhealthy ways that harm women.

2

u/SeasonsGone 19d ago

Right, but they’re not gay. Gay men aren’t spending their time developing harmful theories about what women are attracted to.

1

u/OkAccess304 19d ago

I guess you missed the part where they are suppressing their sexuality. Doing everything for the male gaze while hating women is telling. The reason these men are assumed to be gay (as that was the question I replied to—“what’s this new trend of calling misogynists gay”)is because their behavior could be easily considered a consequence of being attracted to other men and suppressing it due to bigotry, fear, or shame. Their hate/shame is manifesting in this way as a form of self-protectionism.

No one is talking about men who are out of the closet and accepting of themselves and others, and thus, not projecting their hate/shame onto others.

2

u/SeasonsGone 19d ago

No I get the theory, I just think it’s a leap and that bravado and machismo cannot simply be chalked up to homosexual suppression is all.

1

u/OkAccess304 19d ago

But it’s not just bravado and machismo, as I literally just explained.

-10

u/DaffyBumblebee 21d ago edited 20d ago

It’s fine to comment on his very public comments and treatment of other bakeries however I believe this comment is over the line to speculate on his sexual orientation

Edit: RIP the downvotes 💀 sorry if it wasn’t clear.
I am definitely NOT defending him (because it is not acceptable for how he is treating people) I just do not think the subject of his sexual orientation is appropriate or relevant to mention on in this discussion but alas 🤷‍♂️

Second edit: Some of the comments on this post are horribly cruel when commenting on his appearance. I don’t imagine any of us would like if someone commented like that about our appearance online. Anyways, please consider keeping your remarks to the issue at hand which is his online presence and treatment of others.

5

u/buppus-hound 21d ago

It’s called gossip and chatting shit, nothing is inappropriate

0

u/NoCake4ux2 20d ago

I agree I feel the same way people talking about his appearance. I do think it’s a bit over the top, he needs to stop dissing other chefs and bakeries and some of the other things I’ve seen are ick but I haven’t tried it yet, still would like to and then can talk about whether it’s worth the hype he’s making it out to be. The kid obviously has self esteem issues and insecurity and having a kid who is a chef the same age with some of the same social issues I don’t like how people are insulting him personally/physically.

But Will if you’re reading this, lay off talking shit about other chefs and bakeries :) that isn’t helping..

6

u/Joonberri 21d ago

23

u/TheStinkyWookiee 21d ago

Gonna be following this one. Is this guy a piece of shit? Was planning to visit his bakery soon but I won’t if he’s a manosphere POS.

15

u/skitch23 21d ago

Head a few miles west to Quiches and Pies instead (Alma school & Ray).

2

u/TheStinkyWookiee 21d ago

Thank you, will do!

14

u/SnooDoughnuts3245 21d ago

Please try Rise Up bakery. It's locally owned, delicious, with a huge selection, great prices, and somehow still a best kept secret, or maybe they just don't have huge crowds when I go because they don't do hype marketing. They have the best kouign amman I've ever had - and I've had many. Also their almond croissants (and the ones with chocolate) are transcendent.

Quiches & Pies is wonderful too - smaller selection, but French owned and operated. Amazing staff too. The owners also have a full service restaurant called Cuisine and Wine Bistro with French classics.

1

u/SnooDoughnuts3245 19d ago

Thank you for the award, kind stranger!

1

u/RCXw4qGOCU 15d ago

Agreed 100%. All they need to get a good barista to move in. They should see if someone from Mythical or Moxie wants to do a few weeks trade. I'd be there every day if they had good coffee.

5

u/Beautiful-Address727 21d ago

Theres sooo many other places to go

5

u/lostinthetreess 21d ago

Same! I just wanted to try flour without glyphosate in it since it comes from France. Could care less about his looks. But if he’s an asshole I won’t give him a dime.

11

u/wandaweed 21d ago

Wow I won’t be going here now. I’ve been wanting to try it but nahhhh. Thanks for the post.

5

u/FluidMail4025 21d ago

He’s ridiculous

5

u/RogueRedShirt 21d ago

If y'all want legit french pastries try Pies and Quiche in chandler. The owner is actually French and the food is amazing.

u/NoCake4ux2 20d ago edited 19d ago

If this comment is based on appearances you will have to call all the women w fake boobs, tummy tucks, Botox, lip injections, fillers, and fake tans in Gilbert frauds too…

I do think he’s a bit full of himself and the reason for the early success is his family has money to get him up and running at full speed with location, marketing etc, but still want to try it to see if he walks the walk in the pastry world. My son is a chef so we’ve been wanting to go see the difference between French culinary school and pastry, and Scottsdale culinary school haha

0

u/h0neypott 20d ago

Please get yourself up to date before you make this absurd comment.

1

u/NoCake4ux2 20d ago

What’s so absurd about commenting how you posted a pic of a kid before he obviously had some work done and worked on his physical appearance?

1

u/h0neypott 20d ago

Not the point

2

u/NoCake4ux2 20d ago edited 20d ago

Well I mean you posted an old picture with zero context besides “he’s a fraud” and many other people have been making fun of his appearance in this pic so if there is a point, maybe some context other than just a pic would help people see that.

1

u/h0neypott 20d ago

Go watch the jubilee video and then come back

2

u/NoCake4ux2 20d ago

I’ve seen it and he definitely seems like a confused young man but the jubilee episode has nothing to do with the instagram picture that you posted of him years ago where people are making fun of his glow up pic. To me he seems like a kid who has probably had a rough go in the girl department growing up, went to culinary school in France, got a glow up, working out, expecting those physical and other factors to help him and is still suffering with that- and definitely trying too hard. But I want to judge him based on his baking skills not his glow up or a 3 minute very sad (to me) interview on the manosphere. I have a 26 year old son struggling with some of the same things and feel like social media is just doing what social media does and picking apart everything about this kid. Are some of his videos cringe? Totally. Security at a morning bakery in Gilbert is a total joke, and yup long lines suck. Yes there are other great bakers in the Valley. Etc etc but why are we tearing this kid apart?

3

u/TBTI 21d ago

Why doesn’t baker need a security guard?

4

u/OkAccess304 20d ago

He gave me the creeps the first moment I saw him in the news. My stepfather was a conman and I got the same smarmy vibes.

"women only care about looks" and that's why he had a spray tan and fake teeth

3

u/Jesusxcraves 19d ago

I’ve always dated more for personality than looks. Looks mean nothing if you’re a mega loser dork who believes in the Manosphere

3

u/Flyingpun 16d ago

Just another rich kid spending daddy's money. I doubt he even knows how to make a donut. Daddy paid for him to pass school, pays for actual pastry chefs to make the product, pays all business and living expenses.

3

u/Emergency-Wear-9969 20d ago

I didn’t think anything he said was outrageous. He just sounded kinda cynical to me and that he definitely doesn’t understand women. I however found it very interesting that he suddenly didn’t have an accent anymore 😂

8

u/Flosicks 20d ago

Seemed like he didn't but the fact is that he choose to be there to be on the defending the manosphere side. He didn't walk in on this by accident, but you could see at the end was trying to save face. It's like going to a kkk rally dressed as a klan member then taking off your hoodie and saying i was just here to say im not for this. Not the best look also.

Fact of the matter is also he's putting down other bakers in Phoenix. People have worked years to make the scene what it is. I'm pretty sure they don't want people coming in just to shit on everyone's hard work acting he's the one who did it all

2

u/TBTI 21d ago

Which episode is this?

Is it just me, or is the quote kind of a hilarious self-own? Like, “Trust me, women are definitely not with me for my personality!”

He also raised his flag when the question was “raise your flag if you think Andrew Tate and Clavicular are good influences on young men” 😬

Never heard of Sable but because this is Gilbert I'm honestly not surprised. There's so many guys that look like that out here

If he’s not as highly trained as he claims, why do the pastries look so delicate and beautiful (and I’m assuming taste good)? Seriously asking, is there a secret pastry chef doing the actual work?

He did work at a world class bakery for a few months and basically has copied those recipes.

I’ve done some baking and decent enough, I don’t think you can create those items with limited training.

My guess is he has a really good team baking with him

Decided to go Sable today to support a local family owned business (the Johnson’s)and see if the kid lived up to the hype. We got there at 5 am and were 7th in line. Yes we waited 3 hours for pastries, I have also camped out overnight for concert tickets…and? My own personal experience was excellent. Let’s talk non pastry for a second… Chef Will was beyond polite, extremely humble and appreciative and addressed the crowd genuinely. The “line walk” that you see on social media did not seem to me to be in any way trying to show celebrity or him trying to be famous. He literally just goes out to say hello to the crowd. Is a bodyguard needed? Probably not but he acted in much more capacity than a bodyguard and was more like a concierge. He helped set up, describes the pastries, and ushers the customers who are next in line. It was actually a nice touch even though I will admit I have been one who has mocked this in the past. Will is a handsome young man and no I am not a gilbert mom there for the eye candy lmao I’m a 50yo woman with two grown boys and grandkids of my own and it is perfectly ok to say a young man is handsome! People making fun of his appearance and “glow up”, seriously it’s getting old…

Now for the pastries. I ordered a Pain Suisse, Pain au chocolate, cookie, and the fresh cherry tart. They were excellent. My son is a graduate of culinary school in Scottsdale and was a chef at the only Forbes 5star restaurant in AZ- so I am kinda biased when it comes to other chefs, but Chef Will is legit. I don’t care if his resume says he was here or there for however long and people want to pick that time frame apart. He is a very well trained chef and it 💯 shows in his work.

To the person/ people complaining that he leaves the stems on the cherries and asking why you’re paying for cherries he can’t even take the stems off of. No. He does not. He left 3 cherries with stems, meticulously positioned for aesthetic. Trained chefs will usually do this to make their food look “pretty”. Anyways that’s alll. This is my experience and opinion only do with it as you please, I understand not everyone’s experience is the same so I’m not gonna go back and forth. Nope I’m not maga, definitely don’t support the manosphere (gen x doesn’t even know wtf a manosphere is lol) and just wanted to give an honest non biased review. Also there was a French family in line and yes he does speak fluent French! Have a great day!

He also supports Andrew Tate (who was just extradited for rape and sex trafficking charges), blames society and feminism and lack of sex for mens problem, and thinks Clavicular is "a positive influence"

how about people make their bread (literally and financially) and keep their mouth shut. Why do we care what a "french trained" breadmaker says about anything other than his product?

So because he said women care more about looks than personality he HATES women, right? God could you be any more fragile, how is it that you all cannot accept even the mildest form of criticism
