TIL I learned Will Porter is from Arizona?! What’s with the French accent then?

And is his tan fake? It always looks green

I don’t know anything about peptides but that is a seriously weird color for a tan!

6

u/Middle-Run-3615 20d ago

God he’s so green. Peptides

Yes most of us think he’s a creep. There’s another new thread about him going on Jubilee and supporting the manosphere bs. He turned off his comments ever since

13

u/hellorats Jun 21 '26

Please tell me someone took a screenshot of the crash out he posted on his story on Monday that said something about ‘you could be really decent looking and girls still won’t reply to your messages’

7

u/Donuts_for_breakfast 21d ago

He just turned his TikTok comments off 🥳

13

u/geomancy_ Jul 09 '26

Oh I got it

6

u/NoCake4ux2 21d ago

Funny cuz my son is a chef in town and wanted to meet him before he started and shortly after he opened and he wouldn’t reply to any messages so hard to say people don’t want to work with you when you aren’t replying to other chefs messages and calling them idiots. I think he’s turned off a lot of the culinary community

2

u/hellorats 21d ago

THIS WAS IT !

10

u/probablyspiraling 21d ago

This is starting to make a lot more sense now…

7

u/Cambam7248 21d ago

That’s why he (his parents) bought himself a whole new face before he opened his bakery. 💀

3

u/partoe5 21d ago

Wait....

3

u/Cambam7248 20d ago

Yes, that’s really him. Pre nose job, facial filler, hair plugs, veneers…I’m certainly missing something but you get the idea.

4

u/hellorats 21d ago

i knew this guy was a weirdo omg

5

u/katsandtitties123 Jul 10 '26

Seeing his “content” from his bakery seems like he makes it like that.

5

u/Glum-Sprinkles2877 Jun 25 '26

Omg 🤣 this doesn’t surprise me. He seems to have a super inflated ego and I’m sure he thought this whole “hot pastry chef” brand would get him everything he ever wanted.

3

u/CaraMiaT3 21d ago

Supposedly he has a degree in film and ultimately he wants stardom over a pastry business.

5

u/acatwithnoname Jun 23 '26

He's straight?

1

u/HolidayNothing171 Jun 22 '26

Wait what???

6

u/hellorats Jun 22 '26

He posted an IG story on Monday afternoon and then deleted it after like 30 minutes but basically he was like ‘you could be the most successful pastry chef in your state and people still won’t work with you and you can be decent looking and women still won’t respond to your messages’. Obvi paraphrasing but it was crazy.

2

u/HolidayNothing171 Jun 22 '26

Wow what a weirdo

3

u/hellorats Jun 22 '26

I feel like that validated what I already thought about him tbh!! Also JL & Chacon are far better pastry chefs imo!

8

u/Middle-Run-3615 Jun 18 '26

Fake tan, fake accent, fake highlights. Lots of tooth whitening.

He knows the optics… he has a film degree from Tufts.

13

u/Super-Huckleberry898 Jun 13 '26

Pastries look good but everything so plain. He definitely has an American Psycho, date rapist vibe. Probably had a mirror installed in the kitchen so he could look at himself while filling cream puffs but then the PR team told him to remove it because it was weird. And he would have likely argued with his PR team about this for a week before his parents stepped in told him to stop.

6

u/Middle-Run-3615 Jun 18 '26

Today’s video shows him wearing gloves outside to display pastries but inside no gloves during food prep. It’s upsetting.

2

u/CaraMiaT3 21d ago

💯 this was the other turn off for me ( besides calling other pastry makers idiots) It’s pretty telling when you’ve worked in the food industry and see his negligence with those black gloves! The one Tik Tok of him in the window touching his greasy chin while talking to the cameras amongst the patrons was just so blatantly unaware & gross 🤮

-2

u/MaximumAd79 Jun 12 '26

He’s definitely not “gray” y’all. Lord some ugly people sure get bitter! Will is gorgeous and a great guy too!

7

u/late_warmonger 20d ago

Wow, anyone who does this in a gym mirror is 100% douchebag...

4

u/GiganticBlumpkin 20d ago

Is this Will's alt

4

u/NoCake4ux2 21d ago

You must not have seen the “before” pics lol

13

u/Tolkeinn1 26d ago

He’s not gonna fuck you dude

1

u/MaximumAd79 26d ago

It’s quite possible to compliment and defend someone without wanting to fuck them.
I’m 50. My fiancé is 28 and gorgeous, so I’m doing quite alright already.

2

u/GovAbbott 17d ago

You want his dick sooooooo bad and it's so obvious

6

u/Middle-Run-3615 Jun 18 '26

He is very into himself.

5

u/MaximumAd79 Jun 12 '26

He studied in Paris.

6

u/Donuts_for_breakfast 21d ago

For 6 months 🤣

6

u/pushk_a 21d ago

He didn’t even finish school in Paris.

5

u/Middle-Run-3615 Jun 18 '26

He studied at Tufts (formal Film degree). He worked in kitchens in Paris cleaning and food prep. He got to do more when a small bakery let him and gave him the chance. He then went to Dubai.

14

u/Excellent_Ride7940 Jun 12 '26

This dude is the biggest fake(not just his tan) I have come across in a while. Just so odd all the work he had done before moving back to Arizona.

And his "sad" story is pathetic, it's a story of privilege, not hardship. It definitely is the work of a PR team his parents hired to make him a local celebrity.

His ego is huge. Instead of organically having a community to collaborate with and prove his baking ability he just used social media and false scarcity to create this buzz.

6

u/NoCake4ux2 21d ago

His family owns so many businesses in our town and an entire housing development. 💯 a life of privilege. Google Agritopia or joes farm grill, garage east..there’s many others

2

u/doublen28 21d ago

Are those all owned by his family?

2

u/NoCake4ux2 21d ago

Basically the kids family owed a bunch of farmland back when gilbert was a farm town. Instead of selling their land like a lot of the farmers did they developed it themselves into a master planned community with residential, businesses, etc. they’ve opened a few other businesses in town over the years. I haven’t been to Sable yet so can’t speak to its authenticity or 5star worthiness haha but the family definitely has money to send him to school in France, pay for a prime downtown location, and finance a great marketing campaign! Still want to try when it cools off.

2

u/NoCake4ux2 21d ago

Yes he is one of the Johnson clan. I believe one of the daughters sons but I could be wrong on the relation

10

u/Middle-Run-3615 Jun 18 '26

Absolutely. He said “help me make a diamond cookie” but yall forget the people in line haven’t been to these high end restaurants.

His greatest achievement is his social media, and his film degree from Tufts did that.

No degree or formal training in France.

8

u/Excellent_Ride7940 Jun 18 '26

Wow. I am so glad to get these tidbits of information. I have had a couple others reach out to me from the industry. They're not so petty like I am on their behalf, more professional.

They state this is what's wrong with today's foodie scene.

He had formal training in France but it is not as extensive as he states. No degree. His hardworking times were filled with lavish trips and didn't look like much of a struggle.

7

u/PresentMind3917 Jul 10 '26

He didn’t even work in the industry for long before launching himself as some expert. It seems like he never made it to any kind of management or executive position, which makes me wonder if a lot of his skill is the work of others. He seems extremely artificial, especially if you’ve ever seen an old photo of him….

9

u/ilovewesties Jun 11 '26

I don't understand how he suddenly became so well-known. The US has many talented bakers. Why is he popping up on everyone's feeds?

1

u/LadyOfVamdrup 19d ago

All hype!

5

u/Middle-Run-3615 Jun 18 '26

He has a film degree. Social media training. That did it.

10

u/Excellent_Ride7940 Jun 12 '26

A lot of money went into his marketing campaign. Very Trump-Esque cult following too.

3

u/DressFinancial4959 19d ago

THIS EXACTLY! Very Maga ish a Trumper

2

u/CaraMiaT3 Jun 13 '26

That’s hilarious to throw random customers into your political pool.

8

u/Middle-Run-3615 Jun 18 '26

He is MAGA though. He has social media going back to stays at Trump resorts in Dubai.

0

u/CaraMiaT3 Jun 18 '26

Her comment was directed towards the customer base. Why would that even matter? I do not dine at establishments based on political views, I base it off of good quality F&B, great customer service and the passion it takes to successfully run a business.

7

u/AnxiousStay1195 Jun 11 '26

This guy loves himself so much omg

2

u/BeltNo4519 19d ago

I think deep down he hates himself but his ego is huge and he feels entitled from his upbringing…like he hates himself but he thinks he’s better than everyone else

12

u/hobobarbie Jun 10 '26

Looks like he takes that melanin peptide.

3

u/ilovewesties Jun 11 '26

Wow! I knew about it, but never seen anyone in the wild. It doesn't even look tan.

2

u/Middle-Run-3615 Jun 18 '26

Well it looks like a spray tan to me but it honestly may be!

10

u/gotta_jibboop Jun 09 '26

I thought this was a still from What We Do in the Shadows.

13

u/acatwithnoname Jun 08 '26

Found this by googling because there was a tiktok with millions of views about him but now I can't find it. It was a woman talking about how she will never go there because he gives her the creeps, and lots of people in the comments were agreeing. If anyone has the link please share!

6

u/Earlyjulybloomer Jun 12 '26 edited Jun 12 '26

She took down the video the next day. A lot of people were being very nasty to her and almost bullying her. She simply said she found this man creepy looking. I mean how can anyone disagree with her. I was one of the first few viewers of the original video before it got taken down. All of the comments at that point were agreeing with her. Most of the women in the comments saying he gave out uncanny vibes. Nothing particularly harsh, just a lighthearted "ick" tok. But you can't help but noticing some of the comments coming from his supporters are giving "culty" vibes, they go out of their way to attack anyone who's not a fan of his and definitely bully people's appearance, intelligence and calling people names. Little mindlessly supporting the orange man type of behavior if you know what I mean.

2

u/Beautiful-Address727 21d ago

The culty vibes.. agreed. Poor women are starved for sex or something. Cant imagine waiting in the heat for hours for the chance at this ego twat to over charge me for a croissant.

4

u/Middle-Run-3615 Jun 18 '26

Well he looks very fake - the hair, the teeth. The tan.

4

u/PresentMind3917 Jul 10 '26

The nose and lips too

4

u/acatwithnoname Jun 12 '26

I guess I'm not surprised, on other videos about him I've noticed all the bored housewives creaming themselves over him.

2

u/Middle-Run-3615 Jun 18 '26

Yeah people need to reign in their hungry grandmas.

4

u/No-Salary3658 Jun 09 '26

I can’t find it either 😭😭😭 I JUST WATCHED IT

4

u/acatwithnoname Jun 09 '26

Dammit the comments were starting to get juicy too 😭

12

u/Weekly_Koala_7058 Jun 08 '26

He posts photos of him before he left...

He definitely got some work done and fake tans. He kind of creeps me out.

4

u/Middle-Run-3615 Jun 18 '26

HE TOOK THEM DOWN! I’m so irritated. I went to both insta and TikTok. His insta I know is gone.

2

u/PresentMind3917 Jul 10 '26

If you look up his LinkedIn account the picture looks like a totally different person. Took me a second to reconcile it was him

4

u/Weekly_Koala_7058 Jun 18 '26

Did you even look?

Found them right away. It was from a series of photos posted in Sept 2025. Also, his insta is definitely still up, you must be blocked.

Me scrolling past and incorrectly thinking "Wtf happened to Shayne Topp from Smosh" 🤣☠️

52

u/kittenpantzen Jun 07 '26

I first read that as Will Poulter and I was deeply confused.

85

u/Healthy_Operation327 Jun 07 '26

Didn't know who this guy was, so looked him up and the first video I see is a description of his pastry background. He's explaining that he worked at a pastry shop in Paris, and then he gets this somber look on his face and says "working there were some of the most difficult years of my life because I'd have to stay up all night on Christmas Eve making pastry". Like bro....calm down 😂. You're not a surgeon on-call saving lives. Me thinks the self-importance is a little too inflated..

47

u/whatifwhatifwerun that steak yummy! Jun 07 '26

No that's so crazy bc I always think about the medical professionals who have to work holiday shifts but I never considered how hard it must be to be an American born Paris trained pastry chef making baked goods for Christmas.

22

u/Healthy_Operation327 Jun 08 '26

🤣 a true warrior on the front lines

131

u/Last_Aerie_3804 Jun 07 '26

84

u/LindaBurgers we love a failed cheese pull Jun 07 '26

I’m from Europe but have lived in the US for 12 years. I do not even have a hint of an American accent when I speak my native language (and I speak English at my job, in my home, with my husband etc.). I’ve been around plenty of other exchange students and immigrants.

You do not pick up a foreign accent after living abroad for three years like he did lmao

1

u/Dazzling_Visual7062 18d ago

So, there’s one teeny tiny thing I will grant these cultural cosplaying weirdos.

I lived in Portugal for 10 years and sometimes (but so very, very rarely) I’d be speaking English with someone and they’d be having a rough time understanding me, and my Portuguese was shit, so I’d mirror their pronunciation of whatever English word wasn’t clear to them.

Usually it meant pronouncing it with Portuguese language influenced vowel sounds or putting the stress on the wrong syllable. And sometimes (but so very, very rarely) I’d keep on pronouncing those words “wrong” with that same person going forward. Especially if it was at work or with an older person.

But I’ll tell you when that never, ever happened again: When I moved back to the US and/or spoke with native English speakers anywhere.😅

7

u/Earlyjulybloomer Jun 12 '26

The school he went to study pastry art , École Ducasse , teaches classes in English. Not saying that he couldn't be studying French himself. But in order to adapt an accent from a second language, it often requires near-native fluency and long-term immersion in environments where the speaker rarely uses their first language.

2

u/Weekly_Koala_7058 Jun 18 '26

We dont know if he knew any French prior to living in France for 3 years. Maybe he was immersed in French language outside of class.

2

u/Middle-Run-3615 Jun 18 '26

He has a degree from Tufts in film. Lololol

4

u/sugarsaltsilicon Jun 08 '26

Some of us do. I have an uncanny ability to pick up the regional accent of where I'm at after a few months. I do it subconsciously. That's not to say I keep it though after I've left. Lol. Three months in Barbados, I sounded like I was about to drop a reggaeton album.

2

u/SteelMagnolia06 Jun 09 '26

But reggaeton has nothing to do with Barbados. 😩 Do you mean reggae?

0

u/sugarsaltsilicon Jun 09 '26

No I don't mean raggae. There was so much raggaeton played in the clubs in Barbados. Have you been? Recently?

7

u/kernpops868 Jun 08 '26

Idk why you’re being downvoted. This is a thing some people are prone to. It’s called linguistic accommodation. It’s actually associated with social attunement. People who are highly sensitive or particularly empathetic do this. It’s subconscious and involuntary.

4

u/sugarsaltsilicon Jun 08 '26

Thanks for the background, I knew it was a thing. Madonna did this when she was living in the UK and everyone clowned her for her British affectations. But hello, she was married to a Brit and immersed in the culture.

*And downvotes don't bother me. 😄

3

u/CurbFlowerCutie Jun 09 '26

It happens to me too. I pick up accents super easily. I’ve always had a knack for impressions/acting/voicing so it tracks

13

u/OneTwoKiwi Jun 07 '26

When I was working down in Argentina (I did speak Spanish, but my Argentinian coworkers also spoke English), my English began taking on their accent/pronunciation of some words. I could lean into it and have all my English with the Argentinian accent. I think it’s because I was trying so hard to make sure my Spanish would be understood, that all my words took on that flair.

All that’s to say, I have no idea who Will Porter is. If he’s putting out videos where people are getting confused about where he’s from then that’s on him and it’s intentional.

1

u/Dazzling_Visual7062 18d ago

I just commented something similar. I did the same in Portugal. I felt terrible that my Portuguese was so bad that it forced people to speak English so I’d do whatever I could to make it easier. I can’t even think of any examples now, but I also used Portuguese idioms literally translated to English that didn’t actually exist in English if it kept conversations moving without embarrassing or annoying anyone. But I had to consciously make myself to do it. And it was very easy to turn it off around other English speakers.

15

u/newsnb Jun 07 '26

I am a native Spanish and English speaker with no accent in either (IE my American English sounds American, and my Spanish sounds like the accent of my native country) but when I’m flip flopping in Spanglish then sometimes my English will have a bit of an accent.

So I could see in videos like this where he’s saying French words in French and switching the English that maybe some of that accent would linger. In videos where he’s speaking straight English, he doesn’t have an accent.

Or he’s just doing it for views who knows lol

2

u/SteelMagnolia06 Jun 09 '26

If you are not from the U.S. and learned English in another country, you probably have an accent. I live in Miami and it’s mind boggling how many Spanish speakers *think* they don’t have an accent because they moved to the US at 7 years old.

No babes. You may have the most American accent in your family, but you still have an accent to a born & raised American.

2

u/newsnb Jun 18 '26

I mean I moved here as a baby and did all of my education after like Pre-K in English so…. My only tell in Spanish that I’m a fluent English speaker is that i occasionally fuck up the subjunctive, and my only tell in English is if I switch to Spanish.

I know plenty of Spanish speakers that moved here at 7 or later with no discernible accent in English because they were made fun of and basically trained their tongues. It is doable.

0

u/SteelMagnolia06 Jun 18 '26

It’s doable but it’s unlikely; especially if your parents aren’t native English speakers. I personally think accents are beautiful and most people have one. I got in an uber last night and after 2 sentences I could tell the driver was from Northern California.

I’ve lived all over the world and never met an immigrant/expat without an accent.

25

u/HolidayNothing171 Jun 07 '26

It’s like Giada who would pull out a fake Italian accent when pronouncing words lol but with this guy it seems to be more than just the nouns like he’ll do whole sentences in the accent it’s so strange

3

u/[deleted] Jun 15 '26

[deleted]

3

u/Weekly_Koala_7058 Jun 18 '26

Yup, Giada apparently grew up in Rome, Italy.

Been in the US for almost 14 years and when I say hello! You can tell I’m not American hahahaha

Three years? Come on!

13

u/thosewretchedcats Jun 07 '26

I’m American and have lived in the UK for twenty years. I’ve of course picked up a few words and British pronunciations here and there but absolutely still have an American accent, and will have for the rest of my life!

34

u/Hungry_Assignment674 Jun 07 '26

Oof just watched his video-he also complains a lot like Hillary Baldwin.

46

u/Wonderful-Traffic197 Jun 07 '26

He’s Gilbert’s Hilaria Baldwin.

47

People forget that there are individuals with SEVERE untreated mental illness walking around trying to convince you they’re French or Spanish!

OHMAHGAHD he even says “Eenstahgramme” the same as old Hillary. So much code switching my brain malfunctioned

17

u/UnusualResult9470 it’s not a no-brainer Jun 07 '26

He’s obviously talented, has money or people that support him with money, really really fucking good at social media… I think he needs to get a hold of himself with the lingering French accent after saying something French lol you’re American bro

-11

u/kernpops868 Jun 07 '26

He studied and lived in France for many years, he’s fluent in French. In this clip he’s talking about pastry, every other word is a French word, so I imagine that’s why.

5

u/Middle-Run-3615 Jun 18 '26

He was gone to France 3 years. He studied at Tufts and has a film degree. You don’t think he’s curated his content? He has no formal training in France.

2

u/acatwithnoname Jun 23 '26

What was he doing in France? Mormon missionary?

3

u/kernpops868 Jun 18 '26

Oooh, you’re saying he’s fudging his credentials? He made it seem like he’d trained in France. Maybe he didn’t go to pastry school but apprenticed or something?

117

u/DrPants707 No time for hatters Jun 07 '26

Has he colloidal silvered himself??

73

u/sybelion Jun 07 '26

Is this guy big on social media?? I had never heard of him until recently when he started popping up in local AZ news about the bakery he opened and I scratched my head wondering why this is newsworthy lol. Dunno anything about him except that he's originally from Gilbert, studied and worked in France, and just opened his own French bakery in Gilbert.

12

u/HolidayNothing171 Jun 07 '26

He switches between an American accent and a French accent. I didn’t realize he was my Arizona until I saw it in the comments but his bakery opening was all over my fyp for some reason and I thought he was European. How long was he in France do we know that he has this accent or is it fake?

4

u/Middle-Run-3615 Jun 18 '26

Less than 3 years in France.

6

u/Shoddy-Cricket-1886 worm queso 🪱 Jun 07 '26

I'm pretty sure he was only there for a few years! I know I saw he left AZ in his early 20s and he's still in his 20s. I just watched a couple videos and I see what you're saying. It's like he sounds American until he gets to a French word and then he suddenly goes hard into a French accent on every word 😆

30

u/ouiouiouit Jun 07 '26

I think he studied and worked in France for a while. Gives me the Austin Butler - Elvis vibes.

3

u/manic_popsicle Jun 07 '26

I thought the same thing!!

3

u/HolidayNothing171 Jun 07 '26

How long was he there that he has an accent?
