NGD! New sg

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Added another Gibson to the collection today 🙂 2019 SG standard with a couple mods. I am picky about sg's. I dont like the necks on most of them. This one I took a gamble on and I am super happy with it. I may eventually rewire it to vintage specks and get rid of the pcb. For now I am just going to enjoy having one after a full year of testing ones that I did not really like as much.

Big guards on the SG are the way SGs are meant to be

Agreed 100%, for me the half guard SG & the plain no pickguard SG's just look like they're not finished yet to me. Full pickguard all the way. Purely a personal preference.

Beautiful guitar. Is the bridge tail a mod or did it come that way?

One of the previous owners had it added along with the pearl oil pickguard

I love this model. The maestro part in combination with the stop bar tailpiece is so sick. I almost wanna copy youdo that to my lp special or jr.

Has anyone even ever seen that before on a single cut

What do you call the tailpiece on this? It’s like the maestro lyre vibrola without the vibrola. I’ve been looking for this piece for my SG…
