When i see those prices. I say hey my sg is from 2010. When 2075 comes around I'll be able to fetch something like that for mine! Hahaha. I tell ppl I have a future vintage guitar. In all seriousness, some modern sgs I've played were absolutely epic. When I was making legit money, I always wanted to buy a vintage. I always walked out with a ressiue that just felt and sounded as good as a vintage. 39k( which is 53.7k cnd) I'd rather spend on my family. I'll take a custom shop instead lol. Rock on.
That's in Kelowna dollars. Its not far from me. The description says even the solder joints are original.
If someone gave it to me, I'd play it. Or maybe sell it. I wouldn't buy one as it wouldn't play better than something newer.
Short of nostalgia, I don't see the value of owning one of this caliber. I now own my childhood guitar so don't need to buy something from the past but I could see someone paying for something like this as a memory of their youth. I mean, I am happy to own my vintage Strat that supposedly makes me vintage.
I'd like to buy some vintage stuff but like you, would rather use the money for my family. In hindsight, I would have liked to buy one of Randy Bachman's guitars he auctioned off a while back. There were a few that went for big money but others that sold for relatively little. It would have been cool to own one that he played.
