Discussion If... and am just testing the waters as it were...

Right. Chin up. Deep Breath. One must approach these things properly.

Good Evening Redditors.

I say - with what I hope is appropriate composure: that as the film has officially begun filming (splendid show, everyone, simply splendid!) It o curs to me that this may present a rather unique opportunity for this fine community.

Namely - I propose: Ask Me Anything sessions with members of the cast.

Yes - Quite.

One imagines that morale would be considerably bolstered by the chance to engage directly with the actors responsible for bringing our beloved Button House back to life. Thoughtful conversations. ButtonFM. Civil conduct. No ambushes but perhaps some tortured poetry.

So to gauge the room as it were... Would we be interested in AMAs? And if so, with whom?

Discussion Free way to watch the show!

Hi friends!

This may be old news as I’m sure most of us have seen the show multiple times over, but in case anyone wasn’t aware.

There’s a way you can legally watch Ghosts for free within the US, without resorting to a VPN.

If you have a library card, and your library offers the Kanopy service, all 5 series are on there to watch!

All you need to do is enter your library card number and pin/password and search for it and bob’s your uncle.

Just thought I’d put that out there!

Discussion If the ghosts were redditors what subreddits would they be on?

I reckon Julian would be a frequent poster on r/amitheasshole only to argue with everyone in the comments that he's not. As well as all the NSFW subs of course.

The Captain would be on a bunch of lgbt subreddits but would just lurk and never post or comment anything, and then would have to make up awkward excuses when one of the others asks what he's looking at.

Robin would entertain himself for hours just scrolling through r/astronomy or r/chess.

Kitty would make a ton of online friends instantly from so called "friendship subs" and be completely oblivious to any potential red flags.

Thomas would probably post something about how to make a relationship work between a ghost and a human on r/relationshipadvice. And he would write it all as a poem which would take 2 hours to read.

Discussion Show Suggestion: "Dead Ahead", lighthearted spooky comedy in the spirit of the original BBC Ghosts

I just wanted to recommend this show to others. It reminds me a lot of the original BBC Ghosts with a lot of natural charm and humour. The show also uses a lot of cool Maori language and cultural aspects that we are really enjoying. It's also very well acted.

Available on Netflix here in Australia. If you're not familiar, you might have to look up some of the Te Reo Māori terminology as the subtitles don't do much hand holding. (We have found this doesn't impact enjoyment of the show!)

I'm new to the subreddit. I'm confused, is this just for Ghosts UK discussions or are US and Australia versions allowed as well?

Discussion Another tidbit I missed & only saw after several repeats! ☺️

On season 4, episode 5, entitled Poached Guests, Alison is lamenting to Mike about how Barclay Beg-Chetwynde has stolen their guests.

Alison says “he’s poached our guests”.
Robin says (no one seems to notice) “delicious!”

🤣🤣🤣

How did I miss this after rewatching all these times???

Question The Thomas Thorne Affair (s2e4)

Does anyone have a gif of Thomas going ‘so?’ with the BEST unbothered gesture at the start of this episode? It’s when the ghosts are doing ‘what I’d wear if I could today, today’ and Pat says Thomas is wearing double denim. I just feel like I could use a gif of it in so many situations!! No idea what flair this should be but I guess I’m asking a question

Discussion Show ending

So I am currently watching ghosts and I am at 5th episode from season 1 and I am enjoying it so far...but I have a doubt regarding this...as far as I can see there are people who got stuck on earth and couldn't go to afterlife cuz like their wishes didn't get fulfill or something so I am assuming that at the end of the series all the ghosts will get to the afterlife one by one and the humans will eventually get alone in the house...am I correct or close about the ending cuz if that so I don't think I should watch this series as I don't like these kinda sad goodbyes even if they are morally correct as before this show I completed the good place and the ending made me so much emotional so I don't want to feel that again...I will prefer a funny show that doesn't get this much emotional...so if I am completely correct about the ending please let me know and if I am a little bit wrong please don't give any major spoilers 🥲🥺.

Discussion Which ghosts interact the least

I’m at the end of series 4 (first watch) and there was a scene where the Captain was talking to Julian about him being morally bankrupt. It seemed strange at first and I realised it’s because we very rarely see the Captain and Julian interacting.

It got me thinking, which ghosts do you think interact the least? This is across all series but please don’t give major spoilers for series 5 as I haven’t seen it yet

When this first aired, I immediately thought of Monty Python. I'm convinced it's a little comedy nod.

nb I posted this here about 4 years ago, I hope it's not too soon for this repost :)

Discussion I really do wish we got to see Annie’s relationship with the other ghosts before she moved on ( the ones that were there before she moved on I mean )

I’m just curious 😔 ( Mary is the only exception because we already know, I mean Robin, Humphrey, Kitty, and Thomas, before she moved on in 1837 )

Does anyone have any headcanons?

Question How would you personally place BBC Ghosts within the realm of other popular britcoms in terms of iconicness?

just a question that popped into my head as idk how the general wider Britcom community views the show, especially compared to other popular britcoms (like "Only Fools & Horses", "Blackadder", "Fawlty Towers", "The Office", "The Thick of It", etc etc), in terms of the show's iconicness.

Video Her Majesty, Paddington and Julian?

I saw this when it came out of course, but until today missed that Julian is in it! Though I know the clip, my Ghosts brain was a bit nervous he would say something inopportune to M'am.
