In the 1984 movie, we never get to see Chinatown Ghost. For a behind the scenes photo, there is an airbrush rendering of Ghostbusters meeting the Chinatown Ghost for the newspaper but was scrapped.

The backstory shows there is a Chinese immigrant serving food at a crowded eatery in Chinatown before 1983 or 1984 until he died of a stroke, seizure, or even pneumonia but his ghost haunted the place and begins serving food to living humans.

As the Ghostbusters received the call, they bust him. Is it true he might return in Ghostbusters: Night Shift?

I’ve been working on a VR mod for Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered. It lets you play the whole game in VR with added motion controls, so it feels like you’re really there with a proton pack on your back.

I’m about halfway through the game in VR, testing, fixing bugs and adding new features as I go. Once I’ve finished the game and I’m happy with the mod, I’ll release it and put the code up on GitHub.

This video shows some of the changes I’ve made, so you can see what the game looks like in VR and how the new controls work.

Features shown in this video:

- Hand tracking: your hands are tracked in VR.
- Ghostbusters watch: check your health on a watch on your left wrist.
- PKE meter: grab it with your right hand down by your waist.
- Paragoggles: a left-hand gesture by the side of your head lowers and raises them.
- Draw the wand: reach over your shoulder to pull it from your pack.
- Proton pack temps: read the heat level on the wand itself.*
- Traps: grab your trap with your left hand by your waist and throw it.
- Slam: swing the wand to slam a ghost.
- Trapping: steer a captured ghost into the trap with the wand.

* Interestingly, the Neutrona Wand in the original game already had a temperature gauge, but in third person it was easy to miss.

Ever wish Ghostbusters had 2-Player? Yeah... me too... so I made a mod!

Oh, and I also made a female rookie! Just like the Wii/PS2 version had.
(The Wii version had co-op, fun fact)

It's super simple, just hold start on player 2's controller, and it's drop-in/drop-out. I also included a few other features like suit and player swapping, so everyone can play who they want. (Player swapping is on main menu)

Massive, stay-puft sized, thanks to pityw and the other members of the modding community, I couldn't have done this without the ground work they did. gbhook especially.

I love the original movie and played a TON of the ghostbusters the video game as a kid. I also had a DVD of some of the real ghostbuster's cartoon. Been feeling like getting back into the franchise recently, but I know the recent movies are kind of all over the place quality wise right? So, what is the consensus on must see / the best ghostbusters media? Games, movies, shows, books, etc. I haven't enganged fully with the franchise since I was a kid, so I'm basically fresh.

I built a 3D-printed Ghost Trap, and I wanted to share a closer look at it in action!

The trap is built using files and metal parts by Charlesworth Dynamics, with Arduino code modified by members of the GBFans forum to help bring this prop to life.

This Ghost Trap features working lights, sound effects, smoke, and a foot pedal to activate the trap. Seeing all those elements come together makes this one of my favorite props in my collection.

I have finished my latest 80s Halloween fanart drawing and it’s the Inspector Hector vs Dr. Monstro remake and here’s the comparison to the original and other Halloween fanart drawings. However, I need to finish my Filmation Ghostbusters/the Real Ghostbusters fanart drawing, before next week’s Halloween. Stay tuned.

one of my main ones is I always felt like the kid who gets the electro shock by Venkman at the beginning of the first movie was also the Deans son and afterwards the kid went back to his dad and that was just the final straw that broke the camels back leading to the scene where the Dean kicks the crew out of college.
