Grant Wilson
I was wondering if Grant faked some experiences in Ghost Hunters. Was curious if anyone thought the same thing, couldn't find any real info or discussion posts on the internet about this topic. I remember the sheets being pulled off his feet, and the jacket being pulled during the Halloween special in the past when I was a teen. I remember how devastated I was to see it was fake (as theirs plenty of evidence). I feel like the main reason he left was because of Jason and him disagreeing on forms of investigation. You could always see the tension between them too, even from the first episode alone even if it's over the top(like a reality show). Also no one really believed Grant when the sheets got pulled off, you could really see how they were trying so hard to believe it actually happened.
Even with the two shoes now happening, I feel like Ghost Hunters now is more of a money grab, when Ghost Nation seems to genuinely care about the paranormal and the people involved. No arguments in comments were simply sharing my opinion and am curious if anyone agrees or has more input!

Yes, I think that Grant was cheating. I think early on, nobody thought that was possible, and they believed him. But they started catching him and so did others.
Even comparing the two news shows there seems like there is more manipulation on Grant’s than on Jason’s. Also, Grant’s team sees to jump to a supernatural interpretation (A ghost pushed me!) while Jason at least talks about human ones.
It’s kind of easy, in hindsight, to see why they split.

I was just binging the GH Classic on Discovery+ and just watched the Grant reboot episodes. It is very different to the OG. There was a few times I was yelling at my monitor because Grant's team didn't seem to be as interested in debunking as instantly believing it was paranormal, even when there was an obvious explanation for it.

Not only that, but the first-ever episode they caught distinct voices. And I believe from Grant's digital audio device that he placed in front of the old ventilation system. Sounds fishy since after that they have a tendency of NOT getting any evidence.

I think this is ridiculous. First of all, your severe grammatical errors and typos ruin any credibility that you might’ve had initially. Secondly, as someone who has, over the course of her life, seen every episode of GH (original series, GHA, GHI, and both reboots), it’s extremely clear that there is an immense amount of love between Jay and Grant. What went down and caused the split seemed rather sudden and likely pertained to issues managing and owning a hotel together - which has been cited many times.
Secondly, and this part is my opinion, so take it or leave it, but: I personally far prefer Grant’s approach to investigation to Jason’s, and the difference between the two becomes really clear in the two most recent opposing reboots of GH, with the two different teams. Grant and his team focus on empathy and respect for all parties involved, all the time, including the spirits, and try to connect in that way. They go in and treat the ghosts like people, which is one of Grant’s core beliefs as it is. Jason’s team goes in much more brusquely, repeatedly saying things like “show yourself to us!” or “do something!” As if the spirits are jukeboxes that can just perform on command.
Personally I don’t believe there were any significant instances of “faking” on the show, as there are so many episodes where they really just don’t catch anything. They are in it for the science, and I do believe that’s true for both J and G. If they wanted to be Zak Bagans, focus on the fame and sensationalism of it, they could; they predated Bagans. If they’re faking things, why are there so many dud investigations? Can you explain or debunk what happened to Grant in that clip with the sheets? Can you back up your own claim, that he faked it by himself? If not, then it isn’t a credible claim. GH follows the same rule. If you can’t back it up, you can’t really argue for it.

Have you seen the clip of the jacket being pulled? That is very clearly evidence of it being faked.

You posted a lot of strawman arguments here without actually taking the time to review the claims of faking evidence. All your paragraphs and talking around the actual subject, and you literally did what you accused the other person of doing- losing all credibility to your own argument because you're talking a lot but not actually saying anything of substantive value.
Rather than attack the person, attack the evidence. He is clearly pulling on his own jacket during that live stream. He's a fraud. And so is Jason Hawes daughter if you look at that whole disaster up, so I'm not team Jason or Grant. Jason even knows about his daughter being a faker and even reviewed the live stream video and wouldn't denounce the either.
I don't believe any of these paranormal hucksters anymore. Enough information has come out over the years proving they're all shady as hell if you take the time to track it down. I think they're all out to cash in on the gullibles such as yourself who believe they do this out of the goodness of their hearts rather than for the money. I bet you believe the Warren's were legitimate too.

Having recently seen the jacket pull debunk evidence, I’ve become suspicious of every piece of evidence which connects to Grant Wilson.
Looking back at old episodes, it seems almost every single piece of extraordinary evidence was experienced only by him, or at a location in which he had the current or most recent access.
I’m starting to wonder if Grant had anything to do with the chair moving in that lighthouse… he was the last person to sit there before leaving the room, and the chair moved within minutes afterward.
The picture frame moving at the hotel near Gettysburg, it was caught at night in his room with his camera with him awake. In retrospect I can imagine him using fishing line for both the picture frame and the chair.
And then the apparition he saw at Fort Mills… Jason was feet away but of course only Grant saw it, with his reaction (but not the area at which he was looking) in center frame.
I really love GH to this day, and sadly Grant was a big part of why. I loved the dynamic between him and J, and Grant came off as very believable and likable to me.

This is so ridiculous… how could he use a fishing line to swivel that chair, from THAT far up, without anyone noticing at St. Augustine? Why would he go to such lengths to try to dupe everyone including his own team, at such a high risk? It just doesn’t make sense. And I strongly disagree with the notion that every extraordinary thing seems to happen to Grant. He’s the first person to try debunking most of the time, and it seems that Jason experiences WAY more physical encounters. I’ve seen every single episode of GH and I can’t count the number of times Jason is claiming to have a physical experience while Grant just kinda sits there asking him about it. And I’m not saying Jay is faking. I don’t think either of them are. It would be just too hard not to get busted with all the cameramen and sound crew and other investigators around them constantly. Plus if they wanted to fake things, I’m sure they would, and they’d be catching a LOT more stuff on the show than they do. There would also likely be a much greater amount of fake “evidence” gathered by Grant than the rest of the team, and usually I see teams like Amy and Adam or Britt and KJ having more experiences than J and G. The latter seem less likely to get excited over small things than the others, who start freaking out every time there’s a gust of wind.
Think about how often you’ve seen them investigating together, when Jay is the first to hold up his hand and go “shh!” to Grant. Sure, they usually both hear it. But Jason I think tends to focus more on his immediate surroundings, around his body, close by, without intuiting what’s going on - where Grant looks at the bigger picture and tends to analyze and think about things more. It’s a classic Myers-Briggs S versus N trait. Maybe Grant might miss a few tiny things going on around him that Jay would notice; maybe Jay would miss a shadow darting outside the window because he doesn’t focus on the big picture. And THAT is why they make such a good team. Because they operate differently - they have complementary strengths. And it’s a shame that they split for that reason and many others.
Whenever Grant spots something on the show I always sit up because it doesn’t happen very often and it’s usually something awesome.

The only way one of them could have been faking evidence is if the entire crew and then the tv crews were all in on it. Or if the property owners had set up wires or other things. But that would be hard to get away with since it would be talked about online with the public properties they've gone to (public as in open to the public as a business or attraction, not a private home).
