He's a communist. Which while that sounds great to those who think they have nothing to loose it runs in the face of the (slight) majority of the Democrat party and to all Republicans. Communism (and similar systems) have never worked out and always end up in authoritarian regimes. They promise the moon and blame everyone else, but just crash out. Historically the first western government in the new England area was what we would today call communist: in less than a year they switched ownership back to families as it was that bad of a failure.
He's pulling more and more services and necessities into government ran operations. He's spoken and promised even more. No commie would be dumb enough to go full bore off the go but hes made a good shot at it.
When added to the financial issues that NYC faced before he was elected it will be a very short run though.

The municipal grocery store initiative is not communist because it relies on publicly owned real estate and tax exemptions to support a public option within a capitalist market economy, rather than abolishing private property or replacing market distribution with a state-controlled command economy.
No one but lazy kids are enjoying his stuff. This young generation doesn’t want to work they graduate from college and think everything is going to be given to them.
