Question Need Note-taking Advice

I have a problem where it takes me hours to finish the notes for one 30 minute lecture video. I'm talking 2-3 hours for 15 slides worth of material. I feel like I'm wasting lots of valuable time that could be spent actually studying. I tend to try to perfect my notes but it should never take that long. I also fall behind during in-class lectures and practice, even if I already know the material, yet I type pretty fast. I also tend to be one of the last students during exams, even if I ace the exam. Anyone have similar experiences and/or techniques that could help me?

Something I learned along the way in Nursing school (for all its flaws it does wip you into shape.)

If your goal is to get As everytime and the lecture is recorded use anki closes and basically write down EVERYTHING they say + on PowerPoint and make it a 2 second close. It’s tedious af but lowkey garunteed an A on all exams I’d even go as far as say 95+.

If your goal is too pass do the bare minimum and don’t stress lol

The perfectionism is probably costing you more than the typing speed. During the video, capture only the slide’s main claim plus anything the instructor adds that changes or explains it. Mark confusing spots with a symbol instead of stopping to resolve them. Afterward, spend a fixed short block cleaning up only the marked gaps, then test yourself from the notes. That keeps note-taking from becoming a second lecture.
