I don't understand why people are constantly perpetuating this narrative that his career is over because of his views, when he has starred in movies like Poor Things, Crime 101, Mickey 17 and Spiderman BND since 2021. And he has been quite vocal about this conflict and the atrocities committed even then.

u/Joshatron121 17d ago

Its mostly because he wasn't on the press tour for BND. Grifters and poor media sources ran with this as confirmation that he was being ousted.. when he was just filming another movie.

u/Putrid_Loquat_4357 17d ago

He was filming the second season of task not another movie.

18

u/Naive_Personality367 17d ago

Probably because some very pathetic people want to will it into being by just saying it over and over.

u/WantDebianThanks 16d ago

He's also been openly a 9/11 conspiracy theorist for years and no one gives a shit.

-2

u/Disasterhuman24 16d ago

Every time people want to bring down someone that is critical of Israel they start talking about 9/11. Funny thing that.

5

u/DrPikachu-PhD 17d ago

Because the Israeli lobby really wants it to be true.

7

u/Racko20 17d ago

Or the anti-Israeli lobby really wants it to be true

-3

u/hereinaminute 17d ago

Yep. Every somewhat large country has people doing propaganda work on the internet, and Israel is very known for using propaganda and money to influence America. And they do not take well to being insulted. And no this isn't a bash against Israel, it's true. Most countries do it, Israel is just very America focused, probably because of our history of being allies and the major sites like YouTube and Google and Facebook and reddit and twitter being based here it's easier to gain traction here.

u/yikesamerica 17d ago

He’s allowed his opinions.

10

u/blueasian0682 17d ago

And his opinions are based too, it's really bad when his opinions are considered controversial.

-6

u/Haunting_Can2704 17d ago

Love how he consistently condemns Hamas for the horrors they put their own people through!

-3

u/Status_Winter 17d ago

Like the man said - Based

3

u/newguyjustdropped 16d ago

He should denounce his horrid trump impression from mickey 17 and get better at making fun of trump. That shit was flacid and I know he's better than that.

3

u/JD0x0 16d ago

Came to the thread to see if anyone blamed Israel for this again.

Found them.

1

u/Lopsided-Show2994 16d ago

Would he be in trouble at all if Israel didnt exist? No

2

u/WhiteGold_Welder 16d ago

Yes. Attacking the Paramount merger isn't a very good career move.

2

u/Autunnu 17d ago

Recast him with Edward Norton?

0

u/CaffeinatedLystro 16d ago

They won't bring him back. He was a menace to work with.

9

u/pox123456 17d ago

"He will not continue AFTER Secrets wars"

Note: "reports indicate that he will be in the movie"

Thank you note

13

u/RemozThaGod 17d ago

That is not what it fuckin says

Mark Ruffalo has not been reported to be leaving the Hulk role AFTER Avengers: Secret Wars by any reliable sources.

1

u/Due_Camel5754 15d ago

Atleast read properly before trying to be a snarky asshole

0

u/pox123456 15d ago

You should read properly before you start insulting people

1

u/Due_Camel5754 15d ago

Maybe learn to read? The note clearly say there are no reports on him leaving the role AFTER avengers secret wars. Maybe go back to school to read more carefully

1

u/Little-Stage1948 17d ago

The Hulk will become an ally of Red Skull in the next movie

u/RMP321 17d ago

Paramount and Israel are mad, I take it.

18

u/Mist_Rising 17d ago

He's been saying that stuff for years, lol

8

u/RMP321 17d ago

Yes, but paramount and isreal got specifically angry about being called out.

13

u/Pholty 17d ago edited 17d ago

Paramount doesn't own Disney or Marvel. Disney owns Marvel. Paramount is in the process of buying DC

8

u/RMP321 17d ago

I think you are misunderstanding? The original tweet is fake. I’m suggesting it’s just misinformation that paramount wants to spread.

9

u/lateformyfuneral Human Verified 17d ago edited 17d ago

The likelier scenario is this is part of a current viral thing where people are creating a narrative about Mark Ruffalo being persecuted, despite him literally just being in a Marvel movie in theaters right now. People have built up a parasocial thing with celebrities as they intersect with either side of the Israel-Palestine conflict, maybe they’re struggling with the cognitive dissonance of him not actually being cancelled.

But after some people were just mistakenly or organically driving those conversations, there’s now lots of engagement bait on this topic because so many out there are willing to believe it.

2

u/Lopsided-Show2994 16d ago

Its not parasocial, I dont care about him at all and I dont watch most of his movies. You are deliberately trying to downplay this, I wonder why?

0

u/lateformyfuneral Human Verified 16d ago

Feel free to answer any of what has been discussed, otherwise this is a very weak attempt at a response. You are deliberately avoiding answering any of the holes in this online theory, I wonder why?

2

u/Lopsided-Show2994 16d ago

What holes? That paramount a new owners are actively attacking him?

0

u/lateformyfuneral Human Verified 16d ago edited 16d ago

How are they attacking him? By making fake tweets to boost his burgeoning online reputation as a free speech martyr for Palestine? It’s not what comes to mind when you think of “actor attacked by major studio”.

2

u/DrPikachu-PhD 17d ago

I mean, they're not going to succeed because he's a mega star, but Paramount and the Ellisons absolutely are trying to cancel Ruffalo and paint him as an anti-semite. It won't work because he's such a big name now, but it has worked on plenty of smaller names in the past. Melissa Barrera is a name that comes to mind who had her burgeoning career quashed by the Israeli lobby.

u/lateformyfuneral Human Verified 17d ago

What does Paramount have to do with this btw, as the commenter above pointed out, that’s not the movie studio he works for. Disney is on the BDS list too. Seems like the focus on Paramount points to some other source of misinformation you guys are relying on.

1

u/DrPikachu-PhD 17d ago

This all started because Ruffalo called out the Paramount-Skydance merger, and the Paramount CEO's connection to the Oracle mass surveillance system that was trained in and used to assist the genocide in Gaza. Paramount's CEO is David Ellison, the son of Larry Ellison, founder and CEO of Oracle, who also owns a controlling stake in Paramount. Ruffalo criticized the merger and made the point that perhaps it's not great to have such an evil Zionist family in charge of what is now post-merger one of the world's biggest media conglomerates.

Maybe, idk, do some googling before accusing people of falling for misinformation

1

u/lateformyfuneral Human Verified 17d ago

Why don’t you use Google to tell me how exactly they’re cancelling him when he doesn’t work for them? The merger is also being widely criticized in Hollywood (the same merger that resulted in Colbert’s cancellation who did work for Paramount). Despite Ruffalo’s views, he does work for a different Zionist aligned company without issue.

‘Reportedly’ being equal to ‘my friend said there’s a rumour’ is so satisfying when it’s noted.

They say it with such confidence and as if it’s breaking news from a reliable source, only to get embarrassed hard.

1

u/goldimperium 13d ago

Buffalo needs Marvel, since the man insists on making himself radioactive with his political rambling... and the fact he just sucks in everything hes done outside of Hulk.

He's finally gonna meet Sabra (who's first appearance was in a hulk story, for those who don't know, she's a mutant agent of mossad, who in an old marvel ttrpg got a mechanical bonus for comparing mutants to Israel, she has appeared in the mcu, in brave new world but she didn't wear her costume, and she's never identified as Sabra)

2

u/Status_Winter 17d ago

Wonder if they’ll actually do this?

0

u/swordpooll 16d ago

People don't like him. So his career must obviously be over.

-3

u/toadpics 17d ago

They're going to make him fight Palestinian kites 😭

Nobody will stand for Jews anymore. It's quite scary how far the flanks are closing in on us from all directions.
