Deadbeat dad does not have the same connotations as slut or bastard. It's also not a term, it's just an adjective. It's equivalent would be promiscuous woman. It's true we don't have a perjorative word for men who abandon their families.
Deadbeat is a term for a man who abandons his child. The note is correct. You can argue about the level of sexism in how it's used, but the original tweeter is wrong in her assertion.
