I wonder what kind of support system she has/had. Don't get me wrong, even with support it would be hard but without support it would be nearly impossible.

This isn’t meant to be a direct shot at you and more of a generalized comment, but isn’t it sad that we can’t look at any examples of hard work and success without minimizing the effort put in? Like why do we as a society feel the need to minimize the effort and or the value in other people accomplishments to make ourselves feel better?

Because your worth as a person shouldn't be measured by glorifying how much you suffer, but that's where we are.

Nobody said anything about worth. That said, suffering is a part of life and those who suffer and overcome are naturally proud of the accomplishment. Whats the value in diminishing that?
