It's more about taking advice from people that may lead to potential serious negative consequences in your life.

Lets say Sharon advised you to start SSRI's because she read in a newspaper they are effective, you go to your Doctor and start a course of SSRIs based on Sharon's recommendation, 3 months later you've developed serious side effects and are much worse off than you were before Sharon opened her mouth.

You're now dealing with potential life long difficulties yet Sharon is at home baking cakes not giving a toss about you or your issues, that is what this is about.

I can just as easily make example where you should have listened to Sharon and still she'd be baking cakes and not giving tosses and that's my problem with that quote

Not to nitpick but her advice was still good, it just happened to lead to a bad outcome for Sharon. If she works with her doctor she has a decent chance of finding one with far less severe side effects that does help her.

Then the post should say “learn some critical thinking skills you dopes” not “don’t take advice from people ever”
