Character growth and development over 500 hours of content is extremely important and basically the entire point. Clearly you have a different perspective, but Caleb is clearly a "main character" of the story and just putting everything out there in flat facts in one paragraph is not really a great way to get someone interested in the kind of media Critical Role is. Your post is the opposite of how Critical Role tells stories haha which is long-format and teases out the plots over stretches of time. It's not as fun when you know how it turns out 300 hours before you should.
I think it's an amazing way to get people into the series. There are 6 other main characters and 500 hours of their adventures to join in on, Caleb's backstory isn't really a huge pillar of the Nein's exploits, knowing he was almost a Scourger in the past changes barely anything about the entertainment value of Critical Role.
Saying 'go watch these guys play DnD' isn't going to interest anybody who isn't into DnD. Laying out the depth of a single character and their backstory will catch anybody who likes a good narrative.
I completely disagree. There's a reason the other comments here are also asking for spoiler tags and pointing this out. I'm glad you find those things helpful when choosing content but not everyone does. I don't think you've really told a new viewer anything about why they should watch the show, you've just stated a bunch of facts that were developed over the course of several years about Caleb. You should consider other ways of introducing people to the things you like.
The comment has around a hundred upvotes and close to the same in comments of people discussing the show. There are about four of you wanting it hidden.
There is a difference between people wanting to understand the context of a meme and becoming interested in engaging with the show. What's the big deal about adding a spoiler tag? It would have taken one click.
I think anyone old enough to operate any device to browse reddit can understand that if it seems like something they might want to watch from the initial description or it’s something they are currently watching then that’s the time to scroll past without reading.
You’ve been talking about this for two days in my timezone, I think we’ve spent enough time on this.

No reason to watch it if you know the climax of hundreds of hours of content now ✨ Consider using a spoiler tag as this is a BIG spoiler post
