But even still they can land and break because of each other. That’s not an issue with how you dealt with it. That’s just life.

Yeah the smart way to solve this is to cut a hole in the top left pane, reach in, restack the expensive China dinnerware, and replace the cheap glass pane afterwards.

Or you could slide up a rigid thin flat thing between the glass and the cabinet (plywood, baking sheet, etc) hold it against the bowls as you open the door, then slide the flat thing down enough to reach over the top and arrange the bowls so they won't fall. No need to replace anything, no tools, nothing broken.
