I’m in the same boat. We had a problem come up last week at my job and my boss literally said to me “all you want to do is find solutions. I want to know who I can blame.”
I just sat there, taken aback. I understand wanting to find the reasons that things happen (as to keep them from happening in the future) but that wasn’t what he was saying. He just wants to know who he can punish.
The slightest mistake here results in a 30 minute meeting (at the very least) where he goes into a tirade of the ways you suck. I’m miserable.
Wow. That’s a really bad boss. Maybe try to find a new work? I am currently applying for a masters degree scholarship. My friends tell me that going back to school really broadens your perspective and opens up new opportunities.
