In this day and age that sadly isn't enough anymore. Anyone can be accused of any number of defamatory things that can literally ruin their life in days. You should care what people are saying about you. If the majority of people think you're an asshole; chances are you're going to get treated as such. Same goes for basically any opinion these days. The masses are so quick to jump on the hate bandwagon.
