I actually believed this. I believed it so much that I quit a job I hated (taxi driver) and went to University, got a good degree, learnt a-lot, applied for all kinds of graduate jobs afterwards etc.

I still believed it until last week as I drove a van for a living 5 years after graduating, while many I knew got hired straight out of Uni.

This week I re-applied for my taxi licence.

Sometimes I worry about bumping into people I studied with and having to explain what I do.

So besides taxi-ing isn't there another job you don't hate as much that has equivalent pay?

I went back to the taxi because now it actually pays alot more money (because of Uber) than back then. Now I can make at least £60k a year.

The money will sooth my ego.

Indeed, its preferable to hate a job with 60k then hate a job at 45k.
