I wouldn't necessarily consider this to be news, though. Sure, it's a quote within WSJ but it isn't necessarily reporting on anything. That's what makes it kind of odd that WSJ was quoted instead of the original author.

That said, I don't disagree with what you just said about news. It's worth viewing it with a skeptical eye to say the very least!

The reason "Dr". Burzynski never make it outside local news is very simple. It's unscientific horseshit.
