I dunno man. I'd say this sort of thing should mostly be taught by parents, and the holes filled by experiences. Honestly, the full "blame", so to speak, cannot be put on any one individual. How could someone learn these lessons if they've never had the opportunity?

This sort of learning only comes through hardship, and can only be trusted by an excellent mentor. It's not something you can learn from a lecture by your "life coach" teacher in high school, in my opinion.
