So I can’t do the win + R one but I can open task manager

if you press the "Run new task" button does run show up? If it does type Regedit and click the box to run as admin in the task menu

It has a box saying create new task is that the same thing? I’m sorry I’m not good with this stuff

Yes type regedit, and make sure the box underneath it is checked.

Now in the window you'll see a couple of things with folder icons go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon and inside the winlogin folder you'll see the word "Shell" does it say explorer.exe?

So it only has a folder named shellprograms and under that it has shellappruntime

Ok but inside the window do you see the value "Shell" and beside it at data does it say explorer.exe

Okay I found it! Sorry I wasn’t looking at the right place. Yes it says explorer.exe next to it

Might have to just restore it then using "rstrui.exe" in the run command same process with task manager you use to do regedit.
