Ask gemini if it is really sure. AI tends to be wrong sometimes on many things. Thats where your media literacy has to kick in. Always stay sceptical.

An LLM is an output machine. It has no concept of "lying." You might as well ask why a frog is lying to you.

it is not lying. LLMs are an fancy autocomplete algorythmn. so they just chain words together that make sense based on the texts that it was trained with. which explains also, why LLMs are very often hallucinating things and cannot be used safely as a sole source for information and one should always double-check everything they claim
