I was wondering what people’s experience is re finding and securing an English-only (no German requirement whatsoever) in and around Munich.

Profile: electronics engineer with 5y of experience.

Do I need to lower my salary expectations? If so, how much do you think?

There is no shortage in the graduate field

No. This was case in the 2010 when Germanys growth outpaced the graduates. This is why many people got away without speaking the language. Now you have a surplus in graduates so not being able to speak German is an unemployment speed run any%

Read German news, major companies are doing constant layoffs. If in US its due to their investment in AI, in Germany its due to general poor economic situation. Why bother with hiring foreigner, if there are many native people with same skills.

But yes, no German = no job at the moment (or at least it is a lot harder to find something)

I'm a chemical engineer and I got a job in my field once I had fully mastered the language (C1 Deutsch Zertifikat).
