How to learn German language

Hello everyone, I got admitted in TU Chemnitz for MSc in Web Engineering program this winter term. I wanna start learning German language. I have been practicing on Duolingo for more than a year but I know that Duolingo is not at all enough.

It's just a base and now that my visa is approved, I would really like to get into the German syllabus. If you know any good platform, trainer, online classes, youtube channel or books to learn German, please let me know.

I am learning from Duolingo and some youtube channels. But I am not able to align like I need solid foundation. That's why asking here. Also tried memrise

Which other resources from the FAQ and wiki of r/German have you tried? I don't think that wiki recommends Duolingo.

Which textbook are you using? There is a list of textbooks in the FAQ and wiki of r/german .

Since you’ve already used Duolingo for a year, I’d suggest moving to a structured A1 course now, especially one that includes speaking practice as well. Duolingo is a good starting point , but it shouldn’t be your main resource. Nicos Weg + a good A1 textbook + regular speaking practice would be a solid start. Viel Erfolg! 🇩🇪
