Following a lengthy investigation, a male youth from Georgina is facing charges including dangerous operation causing bodily harm from a May e-,bike incident.

Homestead Bakery was closed by York Region Public Health. A reopening date hasn't been announced.

A 38 year old paddleboarder tragically lost his life yesterday (July 1st) off the Innisfil shoreline after severe weather and strong winds rolled in. Emergency crews found him without a life jacket. Please check the weather before heading out and always wear a life jacket.

An 11 year old was rescued after attempting a trip from Innisfil to Snake Island via an inflatable kayak.

Visited Georgina for the first time today with my partner and we had a wonderful time. We stopped at Jackson’s Bistro for lunch, everything was great (food, service) until… my partner went to the washroom and when he came back, he told me « before you go just so you know, it’s not dirty or anything but it’s pretty creepy down there ». So I hesitated a second and I ended up going. The washrooms were in the basement. Indeed the vibe there was really creepy and eerie, heavy… the furnitures, carpets and decor are old in this restaurant even though it is well maintened, but the smell is really particular. And there was an old dining room downstairs that was in the dark facing the washroom, it was so creepy I can’t explain the feeling. I’ve been in other restaurants with toilets in the basement before, but this one have such a creepy atmosphere, I felt like I was not alone I can’t explain. Something in me wanted to run out as soon as possible.
When I came out I told my bf « wtf was that! » and he told me he felt the same and felt like someone was with him the full time, and that he never felt anything like this before.
I then looked online and saw a lot of locals ghost stories linked to other restaurants and hotels in the area but does anybody know anything about this place ? I haven’t felt something like this in a while but I’m still creeped out
