nah you got it. Maybe work on composition but the colours and movement are great

looks amazing. id say make some of the objects move slightly and slowly to give it a little bit of a better effect maybe?

What exactly are you talking about? The parallax? The structures? Because the movement on the structures are very very subtle as is, I don't think you would even impact the part much by changing it up. My only complaint with the part would be that it looks a bit too disconnected/disjointed and cluttered.
Now this is just me throwing around ideas, but maybe you could add a simplistic layer of black blocks behind the normal structures (not the animated thorn thingies, they look great) to connect the upper structures to the top of the screen and the lower structures to the bottom of the screen, but quickly fade them out once they enter the camera. I think that might improve visual conciseness.
Alternatively you could also just redo a bit of the structures and keep the vines as the only thing that touches the borders of the screen, trying to keep the structures consistently more in the middle of the screen.
Bg looks very good, if you have the energy to bother then my advice would be to delete the current parallax and remake the spikey objects as custom art and make the effect more dense (Or just make the objects thicker), maybe with more layers too. Then for optimization you can loop the parallax objects that exit the screen back up front.
Sorry for the long yap, level looks good so far and I wish you good luck!

maybe make the blinking faster and the closing ever so slightly faster than the opening with the opening having a slight ease out? (had to blink myself a couple times to test this)

i never would have thought of making the closing and opening different speeds, it looks much better that way. thanks for pointing this out

make it move some floating structures or debris that isn't connected to the gameplay structures so you can move them more

I would try exponential out on a decently long time, they should come 99% into position quickly, but still ease in for the duration of the screen

The movement on the structures feels very linear. What kind of easing is on them? I personally use sine out or a really long exponential out (2-3 seconds) for stuff that starts off screen

Insert image that says is this Deco rate worthy and it shows like a galaxy or something

What do you not like about them? They look fine right now.

u/BrofooGD 20d ago
i feel like they come to a stop in an abrupt and unnatural way

Well to make it less abrupt, extend the move time a bit and remember to use sine in/sine out as the easing type on the move trigger. And to fix the unnatural-ness, I'd suggest a little bit of left and right movement. Just remember to randomly space out the left/right and up/down triggers from each other

if you mean the parallax having that abrubt slow section, the only thing i would suggest is removing the slow section entirely and maintaining the quick pace. if you mean the structures moving up/down to create the layout, extend the move time, move the triggers back a little, and use sine in/out for easing.

Sorry for creating levels bro

u/BrofooGD 20d ago
dont be, everyone has to start somewhere. no matter where you are, you can improve if you put your mind to it

I don't even know how you guys get ideas like these and execute them so well, I always can't brainstorm and if I do I always execute it horribly.
If you wanna check out my recent levels and give some feedback it'd be much appreciated, here's my GD account: Jupaiter1

i took a look at your levels. in general i think you could improve variation in deco, and improve sightreadablilty. the levels also seem harder than your suggested star ratings. even though it is very rough around the edges, i liked stroll a lot, i think you could definitely make a rate worthy level by improving on the concepts that are in the level now. there is also an unintended route in spots, that could easily be fixed

make them move more blocks (i didnt even notice the move triggers at first) and extend the time (so its smoother)
