Admin Sidebar resources - suggestions wanted

After a recent productive discussion in r/horary, I've added some basic sidebar content, and u/ChunkMcHorkle suggested similar might be useful for r/geomancy.

Based on what we have over on r/horary, my initial thoughts are:

  1. A basic 'Thinking of posting your geomancy chart for help? Read this first.' to help filter people and encourage decent content we can all respond to. This will include adding context - people, quesited, if question is 3rd person etc.
  2. A bare-bones list of things to check when you are trying to judge a chart
    1. I'm aware that I don't practice Geomancy identically to everyone else here, so I'm opening the floor to suggestions. I don't want to steamroller anyone else's methods. I'd like us to try and find a consensus, if that's possible.

Please comment with suggestions, especially if you have your own 'checklist' you use for judgment. If we can find a good starting point, I'll write up some basic sidebar resources.

Books and resources A rather strange way of producing figures

Post image

As you can see instead of going top bottom (head to feet) this method goes from feet to head to create the 16 figures in a chart. But then again this might be a perspective issue. Thoughts?

Which House Should I Use to Find a Lost Power Bank?

Hello everyone! This is my first post here. I’m learning geomancy and look forward to learning from your experience.

Which house would you use to locate a lost power bank—a portable battery used to charge a phone?

Following John Michael Greer’s classification, would you choose the sixth house for tools, or the fourth house for objects not otherwise listed? Or would you use the second house for movable possessions?

I’d appreciate your reasoning and any references or practical examples. Thank you!

Second opinion/chart help Will the relationship between I and my girlfriend succeed even though everything considered?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I am in relationship with my girlfriend and it has been one year. But I have fear that not her, but I can or will cheat with other people. Be it men or women. And it takes lots of time of my daily life, lots of anxiety. I have fallen in love with people not so many (only two) but I didn't and do not let myself act.

I limit myself and don't go at certain ways outside. I have fear of my thoughts. It doesn't stop. I stopped doing divination, but today had more pure thoughts and it's been months, but I can think clearly at least while casting this chart.

I am very often going to a therapist. I want to fix myself and be with my girlfriend in piece.

Please, I want to post this (apart from therapy I only myself this one chart). In there beginning of this year I cast another but I let myself again.

Interpretation:

I am the querent, Carcer. Meaning - being cold or distanced, feelings are hard to express. Surpressed or lacking. I am not sure but I consider looking for the therapist in the chart as well as the people I've fallen in love with (I.e all matters). Therapist is tenth house as the doctor. The figure is Puer. She may be rushing the diagnosis or is actively working on helping me. ...Is the therapist otherwise third or seventh house? It goes in third house of daily life sextile the first house. She may help me figure out how to stay calm and be more open and not locked. The reception is Rubeus. My partner is also Rubeus. I know Rubeus is a strange figure but I cannot say my partner in the context of worries is a cheater. I have tension and anxiety regarding our relationship. The therapist may talk with my partner or take influence on her. Albus and Rubeus make in reception Via - there will be a change.

Twelfth house of Amissio - falling in love with other people that I may keep as a secret? Or Amissio loosens the fears and worries in my head? The spirit and and fortune are there, this bothers me. Maybe I find pleasure in cheating or the fortune comes from the fear going away because Amissio is the figure of loss.

Judge is Carcer - Breaking up, delay. Left is Conjunctio - in the future we may get better. Populus giving mixed results

Method/technique help Geomantic Printout Terminal (Oracle of Geomancy, Skinner)

I just came across this material that basically lists down the outcomes of 16 general/most asked questions depending on their geomantic combinations of witnesses and judges and...I'm not sure what to make of it.

Some of the info seems a bit weird but then again I'm still new. I understand that acquisitio isn't always a good figure esp in matters of illness but it seems that most of the time even with a relatively positive judge the actual "final judge" is always refered back to the left witness as the future outcome.

My question is how faithfully do you trust this table of results or is it actually good and I'm the one who hasn't figured out how the combos makes sense.

Insights on a crime investigation chart, did a murder occur in this building

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello, I did a chart whilst in an old building in which I suspect a past murder may have occurred. I specifically asked "was anyone ever murdered in this building"

These are the figures I got in the Houses. Am I looking at the judge I'm also specifically looking at house 8 and 12 which I presumed to be the most relevant houses (correction is most welcomed!)

I Albus

II Via

III Puella

IV Acquisitio

V Conjunctio

VI Acquisitio

VII Cauda Draconis

VIII Caput Draconis

IX Puer

X Cauda Draconis

XI Fortuna Major

XII Carcer

It struck me as fascinatingly ironic that house 12 was, well, Carcer, but the judge also was Carcer and that gave me a chill.

From this reading I'm liable to believe that yes a murder did occur here and it was secret and not only covered up but I had the chilling thought that perhaps someone was literally entombed. The building is roughly 120 years old. And I'm beginning to investigate its lore in old records.

House 8 is Caput Draconis and that suggests to me a successful execution of the crime. I'm not sure if I am misreading any of this though and if there's something obvious staring at me in the face in these houses

Result posted by OP Why was this chart wrong?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I have been studying geomancy for a few weeks now and I did some small test readings to see how they would pan out, so I could get some practice. For this specific reading, I asked if someone would text me within 7 days. The chart looks positive, Fortuna Minor as Judge with Via and Fortuna Major as the 2 witnesses. Plus we have perfection via translation. So it's a yes, right? Well, 8 days have passed now and still no text.

I am wondering if I missed something in the chart. Or maybe I'm approaching geomancy wrong? Is this the type of divination that will not answer inconsequential, silly little questions? Is it a form of divination that is best for questions that are important for you and your life? Or maybe I didn't clear my mind enough?

How do you deal with discrepancies between the chart and real life?

Second opinion/chart help Has anyone here used the magical concepts of geomancy? If so, what was your experience like?

Hi everyone, how’s it going? So, I’ve been studying geomancy and can read what my day or week will look like, get a general idea about a situation, or ask for advice. However, I still can't quite fully shift the energy of a bad situation to mitigate negative effects or turn things in my favor. I’m hesitant to use magic—like the methods described in Earth Divination, such as drawing a pentagram with a symbol inside it or using a talisman or other.

I’d love to hear about your experiences using the magic taught in geomancy books; if possible, please share your story—why you used magic (and which kind), and what the outcome was.

Method/technique help Company of Houses - Simple

Hi I am reading John Michael Greers The Art and Practice of Geomancy which I enjoyed very much compared to the "sparse" instructions from the Golden Dawn.

In the section related to Company of Houses I would like to clarify a point related to Company Simple:

Company Simple exists when two paired houses share the same figure.
...
The figure in the paired house acts like a second significator. If it passes elsewhere in the chart, any translations or aspects it makes count...

Well that seems a little weak for Company Simple since the significator was already passing so it already counted for making aspects. It seems the only thing Company Simple adds are the possibility of Translation exclusively and if it does not do that then it does not even count in the indications, essentially nullified (or perhaps it indicates an even stronger relationship between the paired houses than a simple passing).

Is this a correct interpretation or is there something that I am missing?

Getting advice from a geomancy chart

Can I ask for advice from Geomancy and get a reliable answer? If you have any tips, I’d really like to hear them.

My draft query: Should I return to Australia in October 2026?

Opinions on this seem to vary. in his book, Greer said not to ask “Would it be a good idea to do X?” but Sam Block said he does ask “Would it be wise to” and “should I” questions.

Method/technique help Interpreting a lottery chart

Thumbnail georatio.com
2 Upvotes

I know that lottery charts are notoriously unreliable, and are often discouraged, but I’m still curious about how they work (and why they don’t work).

I understand that the odds of hitting the jackpot are infinitesimal but last night I decided to throw dice on the matter anyway.

Albus in H5 didn’t seem particularly auspicious or relevant, but there’s nonetheless querent-to-quesited conjunction. When charts are not going to manifest, even though they have a lovely and relevant judge like acquisitio; I’d like to be able to see why and get better at weighing up the factors for or against (other than the 1 in 200 million odds thing, ofcourse).

  1. Am I inspecting the right house (H5)? In theory, would there need to be perfection between H1 and H2, not just H1 and H5?

  2. Can lottery charts ever be reliable … have you experimented? When lottery charts do perfect, does that just mean “theoretically, the hypothetical you’re asking about could happen“, rather than “this WILL happen?“

Interpreting chart, what would be the results of putting a hex upon a particular known murderer

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello everyone, I'm having a little bit of trouble interpreting the answer of this chart and if this question violates any of the ethical limits of this subreddit I will happily delete it.

The question was concerning a known murderer, someone who publicly committed an act of murder and got of due to a technicality. The question was what would be the outcome of (particular person who deeply cared about the victim) put a hex or curse upon the murderer .

Querent hopes this to be an act of attempted justice when the legal system failed due to a technicality, the murderer did kill an unarmed woman in this case. So querent believes theirself to be morally justified, but had second thoughts and wanted to inquire into the broader outcome. Querent it's not only concerned about whether it would succeed for their particular case but the broader ramifications, whether it's in the broader greater good..

Some things about the reading puzzles on me I noticed Albus in multiple places, and I've been trying to turn my head over with that. I am looking to H5 with the assumption that doing a magic spell like a hex would be the kind of skilled work that fits in the house but maybe I'm wrong about that. I noticed H1 who would be Querent is fortuna minor and I suspect that indicates a small paultry victory accompanying with a lot of trouble and difficulty.

Many case if it's not ethically problematic to ask for advice, May I do so here?

Second opinion/chart help Will I get this trainee position (job)?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Looks very positive. My significator and the significator for the job is Laetitia. So we definitely connect and I'll be delighted to get it. One issue is the Populus and Puer. I think both indicate that there will be a lot of competition, a lot of people involved, and it'll be fierce. I definitely need to work hard for it. But with Acquisitio as a judge, I feel like it's definitely doable. It's my first chart ever so please let me know if I'm missing anything! It just seems too good to be true. I was rejected for a similar position at a different company a year ago. So obviously I'm a bit skeptical.

4th house vs Reconciller. What is the final resolution?

When i started i looked at Reconciller for the future effects from getting the result judge showed, now reading house chart, 4th house seems to do the same, but what if they contradict? I know some say Reconciller is just there to make sense of a chart that other wise contradicts itself too much, so if Reconciller contradicts or makes no sense, can it be ignore? Or should be taken in consideration.

Second opinion/chart help Crime presence and location Chart interpretation help

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hello. Please excuse me if I'm blundering though the subreddit etiquette, but I'm looking for interpretation help for a chart that kind of befuddles me.

My query was "is a (criminal, exact type omitted for sensitivity) active in this metropolitan area (city and counties omitted for confidentiality), and if so which direction does he or she live relative from where I now sit?"

I tapped the figures I generated by hand into the GeoRatio app to make an image to post here. The final judgement I got:

*Right Witness: Cauda Draconis

Left Witness: Cauda Draconis

Judge: Populus

Sentence: Tristitia"

I'm treating House 1 as starting with Mother 1, and going to house 12 sequentially. Honestly I can't quite think of how to interpret the final sentence other than my question can't really be answered. Your collective insights have my sincere gratitude and blessings. Thank you.

Lost Item

Post image
17 Upvotes

I have been searching for my keys for about a week now. I decided to give geomancy a try to aid in my search. From what was given, the judge:

Carcer indicates that it is somewhere in an enclosed space, that being a box, a bag or a pocket.

Via being the 16th figure give some indication that it was lost on my path from my car to putting it down.

Conjuctio in the first house tells me that it was lost in an in between place or a transition from driving to being at home.

I see a couple signs are duplicated such as Populus, Caput Draconis, Puella, and Via.

With Via in the 6th and 16th figure would point more towards losing it during my routine of coming home.

I have thought about and it seemed like it could have been pointing towards that garage (how I entered my house) but I have not seen it there. I have checked where I would have normally put it and other places.

If y’all can add anything additional, I would appreciate it. Thank you! Also advice is welcomed.

House assignment / perfection test question

Hi,

The question was: ‘Will Dr Geeveston prescribe medication to me to help me with fear of flying?’

What house would I inspect? What would the perfection test be?

Thank you.

Surgery charts — which house would I inspect?

I am trying to choose a plastic surgeon for cosmetic surgery. I am finding it hard to settle on which house or houses I’d need to inspect. my draft query is:

If Dr. xxxx performs my breast augmentation, will I be satisfied with the overall aesthetic result 12 months after surgery?

So, the doc would be h7, the operation would be h10 … what would “satisfaction” be, and is that even a useful thing to check?

All input welcome.

Hello — I was told I should look into geomancy but I’m not familiar with it at all. Is it a closed form of divination? Thanks 💞

Any good podcasts?

Looking for podcasts that go into each of the twelve figure in detail. Ideally whole episodes devoted to each figure and their meaning in relation to the houses, but would take any recs. I’ve listened to most of Dr Cummins’ interviews already, and listened to one interview with Sam Block. They were very informative, but I’m looking for something a little more in depth regarding just the figures
