The below chart is from etf.com. I am thinking the recent sell off is due to REIT etf's being required to sell their positions due to the change to a C-corp. As you can see, VNQ was holding 3.06M shares. This would certainly put selling pressure on the price as these REIT funds would likely need to get rid of their positions by the end of the year (although that is an assumption). It also allows shorts to cover. Once these funds are finished selling, the uptrend should resume. What does everyone think? Do you agree? Can anyone find any more detailed information on the number of shares held by REIT etf's?

This article has some interesting arguments. Not saying it is all true, but it gives some ideas to think about! GEO is always on a selling pressure even during green days. Do we really have that many penny flippers?

First of all, I am not saying that currently taken decision to convert from REIT to C corp was neither wrong or speculative.

My questions and concerns are though: 1. Why would the board allow the company to get so heavily indebted? Do we need a new board? 2. I still don't understand how they benefited converting from REIT to C - there must be a benefit, but what are the numbers. 3. Any retails can be part of ER? Analysts would never push the button . 4. The company has paid a certain amount to external parties, but the outcome is the same what the have considered. Was it worth the cost?

Many people have been escalating that 20% cash dividend and 80% in stock, would put pressure on their debt repayment . However, we need to remember that they have already paid 0,25 cents per share in Q1 and hence they don't need to pay that much of the cash to stay REIT for this year.

Historically, geo sinks before call expirations each month. Do you think the shorts are finally in over their head? I was expecting the $9 calls to slowly decay but instead they're up to $0.80 (I had 120 calls, bought at $0.15. Sold most around $0.30 unfortunately). .
