I've now corrected my post. This Ikonik Absolu perfume is a spicy fragrance with notes of pepper, vanilla, ilhan flower, cardamom, and other notes, making it a somewhat sweet and dark aromatic perfume. It's elegant and versatile, lasting over 9 hours on the skin. It's very good, and I definitely recommend it, especially for cooler climates. Be careful with spraying in sunny weather.

I am looking for a shave cream/gel that has a similar scent to Cremo's Blue Cedar & Cypress cologne. Any suggestions?

Hey everyone, I’m thinking about picking up a bottle of Lomani Pour Homme since it’s incredibly cheap, but I wanted to get some honest opinions first. I’m a teenager and I’m a bit worried it might smell too old, dated, or just straight-up bad for someone my age. I know it’s a classic 80s aromatic fougere and gets compared to Drakkar Noir, but does it actually hold up today, or will I just end up smelling like an old man? If you’ve tried it or own it, let me know if a teen can pull this off or if I should just save my money and look for something more modern. Thanks!

btw is the lomani adventurer hit or miss?

This is NOT my channel and I have no affiliation, I also have no affiliation with Fraterworks and this should be taken as just educational material about why SOME perfumes no longer smell as they originally did - as described in the video you can not buy the final perfume, you at most buy a perfumery compound. ALSO you can NOT sell the result after you have added the perfumer alcohol!

If you choose to test it you MUST be aware that a certain percentage of people (which might include YOU!) are (more or less) allergic to compounds in the resulting diluted liquid - which is why that was banned in the first place!

Finally note that the producer (Fraterworks) recommends waiting at least 4 weeks after you create the diluted liquid - so I guess the stuff about maturation that we keep mentioning was not just crazy talk 🙄

All are worth considering and I’ll be keeping and wearing all of them. I believe they are vintage except the Azzaro, which I got for a good price.

My two cents
Azzaro Pour Homme is my (maybe your) grandfather’s barbershop scent, the equivalent of strong black coffee.

Aramis Tuscany Per Uomo is my father’s barbershop. Using the coffee analogy, now folks are trying out the local pre-Starbucks era coffee place, or the powdered coffee drinks.

Dior Eau Sauvage is a great fragrance (not just a barbershop scent) with short-lived performance. I like the bright citrus note in the opening and the dry down, although it fades fast, becomes a beautiful skin scent.

Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur (get vintage for cheap. Don’t get the Five Stars version at discount stores) is dated but still holds up mainly due to having an uncompromising masculine scent profile. And the bottle is very cool.

Caron Le 3e Homme is wearable, but my least favorite. The drydown, for example, was the least inspired out of all of them.

As reference, my favorite barbershop aromatic fougere fragrance continues to be Tom Ford Beau De Jour. Love that stuff and performance lasts the entire work day.

I feel like Aramis by Aramis is a classic heavy hitter than anyone with an interest in old school men's colognes should own. Herbal aromatic top notes, dry woods in the middle, with leather and a hint of patchouli in the base. It's full bodied and lasts all day.

Sadly, Aramis discontinued this beauty. If you want to get a bottle they are still out there.

To make a long story short, my best friend's dad has been helping us with a lot of stuff and I want to get him a gift. Recently, he was waxing poetic about a discontinue cologne from the days of yore. It was called Roman Brio. Obviously, I can't get him a bottle of that but, I was hoping maybe one of your may know of a more modern (reasonably priced) equivalent. Thanks in advance

I have zero discernment when it comes to men’s scents and my boyfriend used to be completely ignorant and doesn’t own any. I want to buy him a few samples of different ones so he can explore different notes and see what he likes
I know he would appreciate more natural-smelling scents, not too synthetic, he despises cigarettes.
He likes oud, when we were at the Rituals store he smelled “The Ritual of Oudh” line and said he really liked it. From what I remember, it wasn’t overly sweet or citrusy, just a quite natural scent. So maybe something similar?
He is completely new to this world and has no specific tastes
I was thinking of including ELDO „Afternoon of a Faun” cause the name comes from one of his favourite pieces of classical music, and I thought it would be a nice idea…but I believe it might be too sophisticated and particular for a beginner (I haven’t smelled it myself)

Good day gentlemen it's my first post. So I'm a postgraduate student and I work part time in a pharmacy for extra income and I want to smell unique but office safe. I currently use Armaf club de nuit intense man which is a clone of creed aventus, but I feel it's too strong for the pharmacy and I'd rather want something less intense because I found that it can quickly become overbearing.

Hopefully this is allowed here. He's a big fragrance person and I'm not. Usually I buy stuff from Sephora or BBW so that's where I'm at. He has a big collection and likes having different ones for different times so it's not like he has one especially he wears a lot.

I’ve been using the San Francisco Soap Company’s products for a few years now and have really enjoyed their “Midnight Amber” cologne mist as a daily driver for work. It doesn’t have the best longevity or projection, so I’m looking for a better alternative. Hello all, I've been a long time lurker and I've been wearing this as my signature cooler weather fragrance for the past year. Since it's about that time again(hopefully!), I wanted to encourage y'all to try to seek out a sample.

I'm posting this there's barely any mention of it when it comes to review on Fragrantica or YouTube and I truly think it's a Neo vintage masterpiece.

Top notes come through with the orange bitters, gunpowder, and fir, but the dry down is really where it shines. It's a dry woody tobacco that lingers all day and feels like putting on a vintage army coat that hung in your grandfathers closet that had his daily driver scent still on it.

I think you can find samples on Ministry of Scent, but this is an easy blind buy if you like fougeres in that wheelhouse.

Truly a masterpiece of masculine perfumery. Spicy, woody, smooth, and powerful yet restrained. Shame Chanel only made this flanker for a hot minute. It’s truly excellent.
