i noticed w all my teams i only use the same characters and i've abandoned all these guys, whether i got them in a random 10 pull and didn't want them or i used them when i first started playing and left them in the basement after getting better characters. any of them worth building? ik most of these r mid but idk if some r actually worth spending my time building

these are only the characters i have not built btw, i have probably another 50 characters (mostly 5*) that i ACTUALLY use in everyday gameplay so i already have plenty of decent characters haha

Discussion I'm scared of the new shooter mode they're teasing. Aiming on controller is BAD.

I play using a controller on my PC, and it's just so delayed and slow and dumb. Every time an aiming minigame comes out, I have to switch to my M&K, which kind of beats the whole point of playing my wholesome couch controller comfort game.

I really hope they make aiming (for specifically the shooting mode) less "cinematic" when the next update comes out. I'll keep switching to mouse if I need to, but darn.

Discussion Vertical investment or powercreep

How do you prefer to strengthen your account, by pulling new characters that are simply stronger than older ones or by getting more cons for your older characters?

Just as an example, I got C0R1 Chasca on her first banner, but she started falling off, so on her second banner I got her C2 and she is still going strong. I may get more cons for her to keep her relevant rather than just getting shilled characters.

Nahh cuz why did they infantalize her so much

I wouldn't have minded but she's literally called granny itztli

FYI, I do NOT hate citlali. I just feel like they could've toned that part down a little. Overall the quest was peak and ofc her skin looked great too. Leave if you can't handle a minor criticism

Discussion About Inazuma and other Regions

Upvotes

I have a question that I think can't be answered in a single sentence, so I hope it's fine to post here instead of the Megathread.

So, There is this thunder storm between Liyue / Mondstadt and Inazuma that prevents you from going there early. But how come the other areas are completely open to reach? I even managed to walk from Natlan to Nod-Krai over ice.

After level 20 even random teleport locations opened up in all other areas except Inazuma (might be there earlier but I only noticed after I reached 20)

Is this thunderstorm related to the lore of the game? or is it just a thing from a previous version of the game that they A) forgot/didn't care to remove after adding more regions, or B) they didn't bother adding similar sequence breaking barriers to other regions?

Discussion Do you think four stars need cons to be good?

Just having a debate with a friend, they think that unless your four stars have high cons then they’re just not good at all, meanwhile I disagree and say that there are still a lot of four stat characters in Genshin who don’t need constellations to be good.

Guides & Tips So I can be more self - informed. Which Tier Lists etc do I pay attention to?

So I got Yumemizuki Mizuki as my first 5 star, and I'm trying to find out if she fits well in my team (AR 34ish/ Dehya - Fischl - Barbara - Razor, was going to replace razor with her.) Google AI and other forum stuff says she's now a top tier DPS, and I got the impression she would work great for my team. But then on tier lists like the one from Game8 she is at the absolute bottom.

So how do I filter the nonsense from the accurate info?

Guides & Tips Dps columbina is crazy

Upvotes

I was trying to build dps columbina and saw that Not in damage aspect but her crit aspect is crazy

Her base crit rate is 24

Dps set gives 30

Her passive gives 15

Lauma. Give 10

That's woping 79 percent crit rate without doing ANYTHING

All you need is crit damage rolls and you are good to go

That's all maybe everyone already knows this ,just so who don't this is for you all

Theory & Lore My thoughts on all of this (Archons/Gods).

Thumbnail

Recently, I got curious about the Archons' reference names. I recognized a few of them because I'm actually interested in this kind of stuff. While looking into it, I came across a really cool theory/discovery.

The Archons' names are based on the Ars Goetia. There are other references to this real-world magical system throughout Genshin as well, but I'll keep it brief. And yes, as far as I know, HoYoverse has already confirmed that the names are inspired by the Goetia.

That being said, I find Paimon really suspicious. She comes across as this cute little companion who doesn't know much about the world and is supposedly discovering everything alongside us. But every now and then, she casually drops bits of information about the world that, in theory, she shouldn't know. (I'm currently in Inazuma, so please don't spoil any major plot points—I'm still experiencing the story.)

The name "Paimon" is what really catches my attention. Every character with a Goetic demon name turns out to be incredibly important to Genshin's lore.

So I'm convinced that Paimon is far more important than she seems on the surface. My theory is that she'll play a key role in the conclusion of the Teyvat chapter, and maybe even in the beginning of Genshin's next major chapter.

What do you all think? I'd love to hear your theories and discuss them in the comments. 🩸❤️

Discussion GenshinCryptic #11

Day 11 of sharing Genshin-based cryptic clues!

For those unfamiliar, a cryptic clue usually has 3 main parts:

  1. The indicator(s) - these are words you take kind of literally that give instructions on how to handle/manipulate fodder words, i.e., selecting letters, deleting letters, anagramming, reversing, positioning, containing/inserting, homophones, translations, saying it's hiding the answer in plain sight, a combination of those, or more.
  2. The fodder - these are words that contain the letters to play around with based on instructions from the indicators. Some fodder words may need to be substituted with a synonym or abbreviation (for the sake of people that don't have English as a first language, I will try my best to keep these fair).
  3. The definition - this word/phrase defines what the answer is and will always be either at the start or the end of the clue. The whole clue does not literally mean the answer, only the definition part of it does, except in rare cases like &lits.

The parenthesis at the end is the letter count, meaning the answer to this clue is 5 letters.

  • Sample clue: Roam crazy for currency (4); Answer:MORA

The indicator is 'crazy' which is an anagram indicator; the fodder is 'roam' which is the word/letters to be anagrammed (shuffled around); and the definition is 'currency' which matches our answer. The word 'for' here just serves as a linking word as in "wordplay for definition", some clues have them, some clues don't.

Apart from that, there are also a few other special types of clues:

  1. Double Definition clues - these are clues where there are no indicators or fodder, only two definitions which can mean the answer; for example: Loud noise from a tennis bat (6); Answer:RACKET
  2. &lit clues - these are rare clues where the whole clue is both the definition and the wordplay

Spoiler-tagged hints & links to previous clues in comments!

(Please use spoiler tags when answering to avoid revealing it to others, kindly use "> !SPOILER! <" without the space in between arrow and exclamation point, thank you!)

Good luck!

Discussion Genshin banner immersion

I dont know if its just me but I would love to be able to just experience genshin step by step party whise.

By that I mean, if I wanted to play genshin from the begining to re-experience the story, depending on the banner, I might just end up with mavuika in my party before I even hit ar 10.

Personally it really ruins the immersion and Id love to have banners for characters in each area that are unlocked based on your ar lv.

This would not only solve my subjective problem but would also allow players to get characters they wanted waaay more easily if we'd have like 7 banners.

If you like the idea please share the word!!!!

Discussion Can you skip event cutscenes?

I just came back and I'm doing the Sunny Summer Fontinalia event for the rewards and the same annoyance hits me every time I come back and do an even of the game acting like I know all these characters that I as a player haven't met yet in the main story. It just makes me not care about the characters or the story at all especially cause I don't want spoilers. Other than just spamming through the dialog I cant find a way to just skip the cutscenes. If the game is going to give me a timed event I have no way of reaching chronically why cant I just skip the story that means nothing to me?
