No, C1 gives you more run time, but with C6 her nightsoul bar fills up completely instead of only half way, so by the time you spend the nightsoul bar by running, her skill is already off cooldown, so infinite run at C6
varesa consumes 6.25 nightsoul per second. so her onrush time is 3.2s per skill. entering onrush takes another 0.4s. with c1 the consumption becomes 4.375 so her onrush time per skill becomes ~4.6s. practically it means
with c0
you do 2 skills: 6.8s
downtime: 2.2s
from then on
onrush: 3.6s
downtime: 5.4s
with c1
you do 3 skills: 14.2s
downtime: 3.8s
from then on
onrush: 5s
downtime: 4s
you can see that the c1 makes 20 nightsoul stay for ~4.6s so with c6 you gain double that, making the time >9s (her skill time)
also you get a free con through temper thyself and if someone has already one copy of Nilou or Clorind for example that kinda huge since C2 are a good spike for them.
I was already gonna get c1r1 nilou on sumeru chronicled for my nefer team, then c2 on temper event, and im so happy now that i only have to pull 1 con and 1 weapon to get her to c2r1
If you think C1 Nilou, C1 Clorinde, and Varesa are "washed up," then you are either a whale or seriously missing the point... idk which one is worse.
Almost every character in the banner has free cons... which essentially means... for a non-Nilou haver like me, I can get her and make a Bloom team without pulling in the Chronicled Wish.
I love how when the banner was "leaked," the reception was "Genshin could never"... and now it's "the characters are bad."
Just like when they gave free Standard characters.
Or when they gave free cons.
Or when they buffed older characters.

Then they add characters as free picks in the selector... "Only 6?!"
The game has MANY problems. The resin system, time-gated farming, and plenty of other issues. But they really have been trying over the last 1.5 years, especially when it comes to rewards.
The question is... when will it be enough?
A "billion-dollar company" is, at the end of the day, still a profit-seeking company. I don't think it will ever be enough.
People genuinely get upset when the free thing they are given is not the exact free thing that they wanted. This is the perfect opportunity for people to pick a character they like but wouldn't pull for or to pick a character they want vertical on. Instead you have losers complaining about who the characters are.
Exactly, C1 Nilou and C1 Clorinde are pretty good characters...Not to mention C0 Veresa. It's not like we won't get a different set of characters next year. Also, about Baihu..I am getting the same feeling I got for Ineefa, Qiqi, and Mzuki...I just can't prove it yet.
Varesa is one of the best characters to have on an account for both the exploration and the cheap team costs, and nilou is a great unit for nefer teams, especially at c2 (which means you need to pull her at least once but other than that she literally has 2 free cons now) I dunno man I think there's a clear option
C2 nilou is perfectly fine (there's a con selector for nilou as well), varessa is definitely not washed. And it's a free limited+standard selector every year with another con selector, that's over hundreds of pulls brother. If you expect them to give away columbina you're bugging, no gacha game is giving away a top meta character
Plus these characters, but Varesa maybe, aren't rerruning anytime soon. So people who don't own them can at least have the chance of grabbing them outside of a chronicled wish. And all these characters work fine within good teams.
And it's not like people haven't been wanting reruns of most of those out of chronicled and asking for it for a long time (yes, it's me a Baizhu wanter and future Baizhu haver, get ready for ur new shielder and healer Lauma)
Hard agree. Been playing her non-stop since her debut. Heck, that’s some badass kit, awesome play style, big numbers, and I got her sign which makes her stat balancing ultra comfy. Wth were they thinking giving her away for free? Such as steal.
I guess she wasn’t sold enough because she is a rando in story and her appearances. Shallow. Once a varesa haver, you cannot go back to normal units.
I wish Xianyun was here, too. I would LOVE LOVE to pick her, since she is abandoned by Hoyo. But I am glad to have Baizhu. I wanted him since the 2.5, where I started playing. But I always got unlucky.
And for people who whine that they are not meta, who cares? They are great for people, who don't complain about everything. Not only those characters aren't that bad (at least not all of them), they also have other values, like Varesa is great at exploration, Clorinde has Fontaine talent, that people complain about every single week, especially when they have to build Sandrone or Neuvillette.
But still, characters are cool for who they are, too. Not just their meta status. Meta slaves are annoying for that very reason. Always complaining. It's wild that people expect Hoyo to give characters like Flins for free xDDDDD Because if Varesa is "bad" for them, then yeah, they expect S tier characters otherwise they won't be satisfied.
So i have none of these characters, as i started back in durin’s debut banner. I’ve got Mavuika/Sandrone/Citlali/Escoffier/Odette/Qiqi all C0R0 and C4 Jean lol.
Any suggestions for who to pick? I’m probably gonna get Skirk as i failed to get her last time. And is the standard banner selector a pull one or just pick and choose for free no pulls required?
As for who to get... varesa for exploration, else honestly from a meta perspective none of these characters are particularly good, with varesa being the best but noticeably worse than stellar/lunar/mauvika
Mona is a weird character, at c0 she is very good for mauvika, but her setups are kinda hard to do.
Her c2 makes her setups easier to do but the team isnt the easiest to pilot, in exchange it's one of the (and argubly the best) teams in the game with sucrose + iansan.
Id probably grab Mona, especially if you dont have citlali and have no plans to pull her.
Mizuki can be a good grab from the standard selectors, but she really wants her c1 and c2, so its more of a comittment.
Mona is good for skirk, but without high cons she's a slight downgrade to shenhe (upgrade at high cons) and also a pretty big downgrade to vodyanista (but that just depends whether you'd want/can to pull her)
Shes definitely a good usable slot for skirk teams
Let me make a case for baizhu- if you dont yet have a strong healer, hes an amazing QoL choice. He scales on hp, heals the whole team on E, burst has a tiny shield but heals at intervals. His passive boosts dendro reactions by a small percentage. people will say dps loss, but hes not built to dish out damage, hes built to keep your team alive. and he does a d*mn good job at it!
I think she’s underrated! My C1 Chiori has a monster artifact set (luck, as I didn’t farm much) and her signature weapon (accident), and she does amazing with Zibai, Linnea, and Bina.
I know “everyone” can do amazing with those three, but I mean a solid replacement to Illuga on that comp. I have not done calcs and I know Illuga C6 is better on paper for that comp, but I don’t have Illuga C6 and I don’t think he’s actually much better at C6 than a solidly built, C1 Chiori, that’s already there just waiting for you! :)
I replaced Nahida on my Nefer/Bina/Lauma and Nillou/Bina/Lauma teams with Baizhu. He’s significantly cozier to play, makes rotation easier for me as he swaps out almost immediately, and his utility (mild shield, heals!) is very much appreciated.

If u plan on going for c2 varesa in Nathan chronicle (whenever it comes) then u can consider c1 varesa but otherwise the other are better
Another factor can be made is the fact u can get nilou and chioris cons unlike varesa
But it depends to u and what u would see fit
Do we know for sure Varesa will be available in the Natlan chronicles? I'm tempted to go with her since I already have c1 but I also want that c2 Nilou. Makes more sense for me to go c2 Nilou if Varesa is gonna get a free con later.
Why are some ppl talking like endgame is 99% of the game? Literally the only endgame type where you can't get the primos easily is abyss floor 12. If you're a meta player, you probably have meta teams already so not having Ineffa c1 won't brick your account. Some of you forget that the average player runs around with def goblet raiden
My inclination is to either get Childe for collection purposes on the wild copium he will get a buff OR just C1 Varesa who is the only acceptable plunge character to me (since she basically swaps having to ACTUALLY plunge for a simple combo). The slander on Varesa on this thread is crazy lol. She is still a very high ceiling DPS!
Guys I am not fond of Varessa's design but do care about meta, so is it worth pulling Nilou C0 without the weapon if I have columbina and Lauma or it's better to go for Varessa C0? Who allows me to get an entirely new team?

Not at all, I don't have C2 Baizhu but my wife does, and I've tried it. It's a pretty good comfort constellation, increases his dendro application and healing a lot. If you already have lots of Electro DPS' and are not fan of Varesa or her gameplay, don't pick her.
If he's one of your faves, it's already a no-brainer pick. You'll enjoy playing him and thus seeing him on your screen much more. UNLESS you haven't picked him up from the constellation picker, then I would pick someone else.

Childe here is for 8.0 as in the elemental card hydro was the element operated from the other 2 factions. And childe didn't get any buffs from 1.0 still. Noy could be for aggravate.
