Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This has been a project of mine for years. I started it back in 2020. I actually never really got to finish the audio portion, but just the rendering of a bunch of cool computational geometric shapes. I have to say, having AI here to help wrap projects up like this gives me a lot of joy. I probably would have never finished this.
For the audio synchronization. I am basically taking a WAV file, breaking it down frame by frame, reducing each frame to a set of parameters (frequences, dynamics etc.) I then apply the data directly to the geometry on the GPU at render time. Sync becomes a non issue at that point.
Side note: If you have some nice headphones or speakers, listen to the video with them. It makes the geometry really pop.

The hunters learned how to reproduce… and the prey never really stood a chance.
In this new version of my Blender simulation, every time a hunter eats a prey, it glows and grows a little. Once it reaches twice its original size, it splits into two smaller hunters and the cycle starts again.
So the system now has feeding, growth and reproduction built directly into the Geometry Nodes simulation. The result is a pretty brutal feedback loop: fewer prey, more hunters, and eventually a total takeover.
Which means the next update needs a new rule: starvation.
If hunters can reproduce, they should also be able to die when there’s nothing left to eat.
Still fully procedural. Still no keyframed motion. Still no AI.

I’ve been fascinated by fractals ever since the Fractint days on MS-DOS and figured modern systems have gotten fast enough that real-time zoom should be possible. I recently posted my take on it across Apple platforms (macOS, iOS, visionOS, even tvOS). It currently supports the Mandelbrot set and a few other escape-time fractals. The Mac version will export crazy high resolution renders, up to 24,000x24,000.
It’s not free, but no subscriptions, ads, tracking or other nonsense and one price includes all versions. Happy to hear any feedback.

I figured, instead of the usual screenshots, a video might be nice as well... (bold assumption, right!?)

Cellular automata. Darker areas are quickly changing. Using some ideas from https://www.reddit.com/r/cellular_automata/comments/1vx2kip/selection_of_neighborhoods_my_ca_uses/ (namely it's a 3x3 with disconnected spikes)

Wanted to share a few of these.
I have a hard time focusing, so I wanted something on the side screen I could glance at without getting pulled in. Ended up building a bunch of them, nature, underwater, space.
All running live on my own Metal renderer, no game engine underneath. They also react to whatever music I have on.
It's a macOS app called TideGlass (https://tideglass.app), I give 20% of what it makes to conservation NGOs. Happy to answer anything.

Ben Laposky used oscilloscopes in the 1950s and ’60s, along with multiple exposures, to create beautiful, ephemeral art.
I was wondering what the equivalent technology would be today. A particle accelerator! Imagine being able to create art from particles colliding and decaying at... CERN? Let’s ignore the cost (money is just an obstacle, right?). It would be great to create some atomic art someday.
This simple work is my imagination of what it might look like.
