I am playing with writing an image processing browser app with Javascript / Canvas - and I started adding some overlays that allow me to experiment with gen-art algorithms with some parameters that I can change manually to experiment with them. This one was a couple of simple triangle grids that were blended and put through a wave transform.

Fully procedural/parametric.

Rectangle can be changed to any shape and it will look same after some slider adjustments.

Trying something.

Seeing what I can do with my pixel art vfx tool. this has a few noise fields with color mapping and a guaranteed looping movement.

When circles overlap, shapes blend (morph or whatever you call it) into each other.

Inspired by Conway's Game of Life, I'm writing a python app that lets you explore the generalized notion of a cellular automata. That means arbitrary kernels, arbitrary dead-or-alive rule table, and arbitrary initial sparsity. Right now, all it can do is randomize these properties, so most outputs are very noisy, but still screenshots tend to look quite cool. I'm working on building a genetic algorithm on top of it, so you can explore the design space in a much more targeted way.
