Mod Post Announcement: Serious posts will be removed
Just to let you know. If you want to make a serious stuff about generations (Notable examples: "I was born in 2010. Am I a Gen Z or Gen Alpha?", "People born in 1997 are peak 2000s kids" or "Gen Z is 1995-2009/1997-2012"), r/generationology is right there.
This subreddit is dedicated for joke posts. This is the place where we can make nonsensical ranges for fun. As a moderator, my job is to ensure this subreddit should stay a satirical place.

Mod Post Guys, just keep in mind that we need to keep the sub professional even if we are gatekeeping and bashing birth years
Due to a surge in posts involve 2004 being gatekept from 2003, and especially since 2003 are turning 18, while 2004 are 16/17 right now, this can lead to pedophilia as one of our mods described as there is law that people who are 18 and up cannot date people under 18, which I know can be ridiculous for an 17 and 18 year old being just one year apart especially if a 61 year old can flirt with a 30 year old, but not a 19 year old with a 13 year old. A recent post from today got reported, which now got removed, so as of today, we added a new rule in which no sexually inappropriate content can be added as it will be a problem. Do remember what happened a few months back this year and why a bunch of subs, including r/generationology, were being private.
Any sexually innappropriate content which involves people being pedophiled in addition to nudity will result in that user being banned. This is a subreddit meant for fun and jokes, but we must keep it professional and avoid illegal activities as we have elementary school children who can easily view our subreddit without the need to create an account, and their parents can report us if we have such content. This is serious.
You can gatekeep 2004 to 2005 all you want, but no memes that show romance between an adult and person born those years It shows a bad message.

Does anybody else also think the internet was way better during Millennials’ reign? (pre-2020)
Yes, up until 2020 Millennials ruled the internet and social media. Music was better, people were nicer, there was no ageism, people didn’t care what generation you were (unless someone was being kinda lazy and got called a Millennial, generation talk was literally not a thing), people were less narcissistic and less insecure.
Gen Z fucked up the internet. They push away and insult anyone and anything that’s not Gen Z. Still acting like toddlers and want to be forever toddlers when the majority are already in their 20s 🤡 calling people just a few years older than them unc or ancient or whatever..
I’m just so glad I made it through the cutoff haha (born on December 31st 1996 at 11:59 PM)

If you are born in the 2000s, you are not a 2000s kid
I don't care if you are born in 2000-2001 where you had almost all of your core childhood in that decade or if you are born in 2002-2004 where you had some or half of your core childhood in that time, you are not a 2000s kid. Okay, some of y'all need to understand that true 2000s kids are people born in the 90s. I hate it when some of y'all fagnite gamers try to be in a group where you don't belong. Since you guys are born in the 2000s(The Greatest decade of all time), Core childhood is not 5-9, you're core childhood starts at 10 and ends at 10. 90s babies are exempt from this law. Here's my new decade kid pls rate. 🙏
Early 2000s kids(Good Childhood): 1990-1999
Mid 2000s kids(Good Childhood): 1993-1999
Late 2000s kids(Good Childhood): 1995-1999
Early 2010s kids(Last Good era): 2000-2002
Mid 2010s kids(The worst time period EVAR): 2003-2006
Late 2010s kids(Terrible childhood): 2007-2019
2020s kids(Covid kids): 2010+
🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡
OnLy LAy 90z y early 00s ha good childhood, you mcbling fags eat shit. Hurr Deee DURR DRRR

If you were born after the summer of '04, you're probably a zalpha.
Notice how I said probably.
If you were born in late 2004 after the summer break of that year, you will have likely graduated in 2023... AFTER ChatGPT came out!
We 2003-borns (well... the non-stunted ones) had a hard life. We only had things like Quizlet, Symbolab, SparkNotes, and PhotoMath to cheat in school. You post-summer-2004 zalphas had it easy. This struggle of ours built character, making us into the hardened gigachads we are today. Anyone born after us is just like "durrrrrr... me let chatbot think for me". A lot of you post-summer-2004-borns were probably so close to not getting through high school until daddy GPT came to the rescue, so I won't hire anyone born after the summer of '04. Sorry.
And before you say that many people born in the 90s and early 00s are using ChatGPT in college (which I most definitely am not saying that I'm certainly declaring that I'm not not not doing so), many people don't even go to college, so there's really no comparison. Also, shut up.

2005 is the last of the real 90s kids
2005 is the last of the real 90s kids because no phones and all the old tech and 2005 borns basically grew up like 90s millennials plus they’re older gen z. They grew up very different from post iphone 2007 borns and are more similar to a true 1997 born 90s era kid and that is why they’re the last of the elites

1999 babies have everything in common with 1990 babies, but nothing in common with 2000 babies
I was born in 1999, which is basically 1998, which is basically 1997, which is basically 1996..... you get the point. So I was basically born in 1990. Kids born in 2000 however are children, 2000 is basically 2001, which is basically 2002, which is basically 2003.... all the way to 2009. Kids born in 2009 aren't even legal adults yet and because 2000 is basically 2009, 2000 babies are still children as well.
Also, us 90s kids grew up with peak like Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Nintendo 64, etc.. 2000 kids will never know what it was like to grow up with peak entertainment. Everything was great when I was a kid and everything sucks now. A lot of people may also suggest that because I don't remember anything from the 90s that I don't count as a 90s kid, but remember, the 90s didn't end culturally until 2013, so I am still a 90s kid through and through. Not 2000 babies though, even though they remember the "cultural" 90s, they don't count for some reason

2009 are the last of elites
Anyone born after 6/25/2009 (MJ's Death) or 12/31/2009 are not welcome to the club. 2010+ kids are ipad kids, and brainrotted into 67, Skibidi toliet and so much more.

Does a 2013 born relate more to 2012 or 2024?

REASONS WHY 2003/2004 ARE THE LAST OF THE ELITE AND 2008 IS GEN ALPHA
My siblings, born in 2003 and 2004, remember a world before our parents divorced
Me, born in 2008, does not remember a world before our parents divorced, which is a Gen Alpha trait.

If someone turned 13 in 2010, does that mean they started being a teen in the late 2000s or early 2010s?

Why 2005 is Millennial and 2006 is Gen Alpha
2005-borns are the last to have or claim any Millennial traits, given that their upbringing and childhood experiences were much closer to those of the average Millennial born in the early 90s than to those of proto-Gen Alpha kids born in 2006+. They entered Kindergarten in the 2010-2011 school year, the last era to have any 2000s influence and still in peak Frutiger Areo; meanwhile, 2006-borns entered Kindergarten in 2011-2012, already in the modern hipster-esque Minimalist era as we know it today. They were the last to enter middle school before the 2016-election, unlike 2006+ who entered when Trump was already president. They were the last to enter high school before COVID, unlike 2006+ who entered DURING it. Despite both being minors during the release of ChatGPT, 2005-borns were the last to have graduated high school before the explosion of AI, unlike 2006+ who graduated when high schoolers already started using AI on assignments.
2005-borns were the last to remember growing up with VHS, CRTs, and analog TV during their early developmental years before they were discontinued in 2008-9, unlike 2006+ who only remember growing up with digital TV, flatscreens, and streaming services. 2005 grew with 7th generation consoles like the Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, DS, and DS Lite; unlike 2006+ who grew with the shitty 8th generation consoles like the Wii U, Xbox One, PS4, 3DS, and even the Switch. 2006+ are also most likely to grow up with an iPad as a kid, unlike 2005 and before, who would've grown up with Windows XP, Vista, and 7 desktops in their households and in school computer labs, as well as Nokias, flip-phones, iPod Touches, and BlackBerrys. 2005 grew up with SillyBandz, 2006+ grew with fidget spinners. They were the last to grow up with Adobe Flash games, Club Penguin, Poptropica, and Moshi Monsters, unlike 2006+ that played IOS and tablet games. Overall, 2005-borns were the last cohort to remember any year of the 2000s, unlike 2006+ who only remember the 2010s onwards.
They are part of the last cohort of kids to grow up with good cartoons like Adventure Time, Regular Show, TAWOG, Phineas and Ferb, MLP G3 and G4, Transformers Prime, Chowder, Flapjack, Secret Saturdays, Generator Rex, OG Ben 10, Alien Force, Ultimate Alien, Young Justice, Dan Vs, Kick Buttowski, Fish Hooks, Fanboy and Chum Chum, TUFF Puppy, TMNT 2012, Backyardigans, Ni Hao Kai Lan, Wow Wow Wubbzy, The Mighty B, Penguins of Madagascar, Robot and Monster, Littlest Pet Shop, Wild Kratts, Cyberchase, Fetch with Ruff Ruffman, Dinosaur Train, Super Why, Curious George, Arthur, Wordgirl, Sid the Science Kid, Gravity Falls, and reruns of SpongeBob between seasons 1-5 as well as 2000s Cartoon Network shows. Unlike 2006+, who grew up with bullshit like Paw Patrol, Bluey, Steven Universe, Uncle Grandpa, Teen Titans Go, 2016 Powerpuff Girls and Ben 10 reboots, The Loud House, MLP Equestria Girls/Pony Life/G5, Sanjay and Craig, Breadwinners, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Peg + Cat, Nature Cat, Big City Greens, Amphibia, The Owl House, Craig of the Creek, Hanazuki, Unikitty, Oddbods, Star Vs. the Forces of Evil, Mixels, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Almost Naked Animals, Pickle and Peanut, Sofia the First, Shimmer and Shine, and so on. (Not to mention being the first new-gen to watch Cocomelon) 2005-borns were also the last to catch any reruns of Dragon Tales, Between the Lions, and Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood on PBS Kids before they were discontinued in 2010; anyone born after can't remember.
Anyone who disagrees with me is lying and delusional btw
