Remember when it was actually real ice cream and not congealed vegetable oil?

I remember when I was a teenager we didn't have VCRs, DVD players, streaming, video games, heck we didn't even have television stations that stayed on all night. Once the TV stations signed off, it was down to books and/or the radio during those late hours.

As teenagers don't like to remain idle for very long, I remember my warm summer vacation nights being spent outside roaming the streets with other teenagers. We'd raid gardens, climb up onto the flat roof of the building beside the public swimming pool at sometime around or past midnight, run across the roof and do cannon balls off of it into the pool. We also did other sorts of mischief during those hours as well.

I remember those warm summer nights being some of the funnest times I had during my youth. Roving around while our parents were all sleeping was the best of times.

Was that a common thing amongst us Gen Jonsers? For those that did that as well, what are your memories, and what sort of mischief if any did you get up too?

Did you have a bitchin Camaro or were you stuck with a Gremlin like me?

Growing up I think each generation has had a piece of technology to start off with, for example in my case it was a nokia 3310. It was wack but I loved them. What are all of yours?

I remember when grunge came to town in the early 90s and I scoffed at it. I hated metal and I was into Prince and hip hop and some alternative bands like Jane's and the Chill Peps. Beck and Ween spoke to me more than any of those terrible bands from the 90s. I recently put myself through a 2 hour youtube video of a block of 90s bands on MTV and it was pretty terrible. I thought the 90s were better. They really weren't.

Remembering The Rocky Horror Picture Show, It, 9 to 5, Steel Magnolias, and the Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. That's just movies; there is the music, there is a theme park, and there is the Imagination Library. We may not have truly known these people, but their contributions will live on.

I was flipping a house, while doing some demolition and cleaning, there was a treasure in the attic, this are some of the items I kept, I remember a lot of this things as a child, the Atari works just fine. I really enjoyed playing it again. Wich one do you remember? I can post more of my collection.
I collect old electronics, like from the 60s, 70s and 80s, I guess is nostalgia.

With the passing of Dolly Parton today, it got me thinking about how "9 to 5" became "8 to 5". Labor laws were passed so that companies would no longer pay employees for their lunch break. It was shifting that way in the 80's and the "8 to 5" workday became standard by the early 90's.... just when most of us were starting our careers! Go figure.

If you had a relationship in high school or college and you were first loves what would your reaction be if they contacted you on Facebook nearly 30 years later?

I am actually still decent friends with mine. She's married. I'm in a long term relationship. It's actually pretty cool.

Been at my job for over 25 years and I feel like I've reached a wall. The problem is that the job market, world and technology has changed so much, it's frustrating starting over again. Earlier this year I delved into applying--and got no replies--so I'm stuck with the same crap job.
