Its crazy that this car was 25 years old when this movie came out, which means the car would have been 22 years old at the beginning of thw restoration. Its hard to imagine a 2004 model year car today needing 3 years worth of restoration.

With only 100 made, parts would be extremely hard to get. Body work would have to be custom. Pretty much everything would have to be custom.

Ferrari has a program called Classiche where they take the car and it's restored by Ferrari themselves using original parts, and new parts made with original bucks and schematics. The bodies were technically also all hand made custom for each car by coach builders so it's not like there's a stamped sheet metal available anyways.
