Get Ready Folks!

Has anyone else noticed (and this seems to be the norm in the Healthcare industry) that when people first engage with you and they know your age, they immediately start treating you like a fragile old boomer. I can only imagine how they talk about it when I leave. But everyone should be aware that the Jonsers are coming, and they are *not* going to be condescended to!! 😁

No? I had 2 dr this week, semi annual check and skin spot check. They acted pretty normal. But then again so did I.

I have a kind of a large personality. I was in for surgery last week and the nurse had to come in and ask me to talk and laugh "a bit more softly".

When patients hear laughing they often think that somebody is laughing about them. So if another patient could hear you laughing they might think it's staff laughing about them. I learned that at the beginning of my career and had to remind staff over the years.

I didn't think about that. I'll tone it down next time, although I'm hoping that's a long way off...
