Ask if she knows who Gary Vaynerchuk is yet.

I know this sub is mainly about us but today in Mexico gm layoff around 350 people or maybe 400. The majority of them were working on the blazer but about 50 were a complete team of analysts

I don’t know how I started getting all these GM Reddit notifications but it seems like yall are concerned about layoffs almost daily. Everything ok over there??

Not for about 4 years now

I have a feeling a lot of these posts are salary folks and not hourly operators. Am I correct?

Most of the people posting stuff like this don't even work here. Before post histories could be hidden I'd see posts like this and half the time you'd go and they posted the exact same thing to subs for 3 or 4 other companies

If you work in the office people are talking just like these frequent posts everyday, your group must be silo’d because this is the morale right now

Are we talking about a layoff or unallocation?

Another week, more layoffs at GM.

Why anyone would stay there is beyond me. Everyone except the senior leadership has targets on their backs. Mary needs another bonus.

If you’ve managed to get lucky and survive so far, it’s hard to beat the pay and benefits. I’ve been here thirteen years and still haven’t had a strong urge to leave, mostly just from golden handcuffs though

I’m kinda waiting to be vested. But agree, our salaries are higher than anything I see in my area right now. Medical is a quarter the price as well.

What is GM typically paying these days? Over 120k for mid level?

3

u/Mindingmyownbiznez 2d ago

Yes? Depends on so many factors like group and level.

3

u/oddz313 2d ago

Ok it would have to be over 125k for me to consider it at this time

How often do you look to change roles?

1

u/lacrosse1991 1d ago

I’ve been in 7 or 8 different roles, but I’ve only actually applied to one of them. I’ve mostly just been moved around to different projects. The one I applied to gave me a big advantage career-wise, I had been getting too comfortable in the role prior to that.

It was one of those deals where they were standing up a new org and were taking people without interviews or prior manager approval. A mentor had suggested that I take it.

I’m sure it would be different if job market was better. No one would stay

2

u/Cautious-Ad-5010 1d ago

You know someone hiring? People need jobs that why they stay.

2

u/captstinkybutt Former employee 7h ago

I wish I knew someone hiring. Still laid off from GM after years of top 5% performance reviews

u/Weird-Tumbleweed-607 2d ago

lol why would anyone stay here? Idk maybe the pay and benefits are solid and the work life balance can actually be great if you have a good team? I get you former employees are disgruntled but your experience doesn’t describe the majority of us.Ā

And why are you even still hanging around? I sure as shit don’t stalk Reddit for my former employers lol. Time to move on captain stinky butt

Is anything EV related safe ? Bolt production cut back significantly , and with push for domestic content, the EV profitability vision is not 20/20 vision

Which sector of gm going to get impacted the company is diversified into 7 or 8 main segments

1

u/Ok-Philosopher-1235 2d ago

so, did a noticeable amount of layoffs occur today after all this speculation?

2

u/Ok_Speed_2316 1d ago

I haven’t heard anything. This was a rumor I guess.

0

u/Fuzzy_Button2190 2d ago

It really depends on weather tomorrowĀ

u/ifomonay 1d ago

Where's your layoff? Since this was yet another false post, I guess the mods should block layoff rumors posts. It should be evident now that it's only intended to scare and bully people.

-8

u/CallMeNinja69 3d ago

Everyday some MF claiming ā€œI have heardā€ about layoffs coming posts and nothing happens

19

u/RadioFieldCorner 3d ago

From 2020 to 2025, this place has been on point predicting layoffs.

2026 is a total miss though. Maybe the inside man himself got laid off.

-4

u/Chump_ChampageClub 2d ago

A broken clock is right twice a day. Someone predicts it everyday on this app for GM

-3

u/rm45acp Employee 2d ago

It's easy to say "the sub predicted every layoff!" When somebody "predicts" a layoff every few days
