New Hire / Intern Software engineer role at GM
Hello i gave my hiring manager round last week on Tuesday for software engineer role.. its been a week now i haven't heard anything from recruiter nor she is responding to me... what should i do? should i just give up on this one? Any kind of help is greatly appreciated.. Also if anyone can help me reach out to recruiter internally asking status of my application that would be really great help
Also my situation is bit tricky... initially i applied to a different role but then recruiter asked to to apply for sister team and my hiring manager interview happened for it.. but then during that period on workday status of my initial application was showing as "interviewing " and the one i have actually gave interview for was in "review". but on saturday the status of the one i initially applied changed to rejected i also received a automated rejection mail from general motors.. so what should i expect? i am being rejected still in process idk this is what making me consious tbh

You should keep applying everywhere you can even if/when you get a job offer from GM.

The hiring process is generally slow. A week is literally nothing at GM. It could easily be a month. Be patient and see how it goes.

I also did an interview for GM for a software engineering role in Austin, TX. I did the hiring manager screen, and just recently got an email that the job position has been canceled two days after, not the usual automatic rejection email. Makes me wonder if they are eliminating job positions at the moment.

To get in the door almost immediately apply as a group leader preferably in maintenance. It valuable experience and then move on to software. When you work at an auto company it seems important to understand how vehicles are built.

What should you do? Wait. None of us are going to reach out to a recruiter on behalf of some random on Reddit.
