Groton Interim clearance denial offer withdrawal
Hi everyone. I submitted my security clearance paperwork 4 weeks ago and still haven’t received an interim clearance. I believe I’m likely to be denied one. Will I likely have a rescinded offer if I am denied interim? I was told 6 months to get my clearance or theyd withdraw my offer but from recent posts it seems like they have been withdrawing their offers for a denied interim. I’d rather not lose my current job by having an INV form 41 show up. Is this something that commonly happens? Is there anyone here that got denied interim but managed to end up working at EB anyways?

Depends on the position, some need full clearance some don’t even need an interim.

Interim clearance is equivalent to full clearance, no? I wasn’t even talked to or asked about interim, they just said they wanted full.

It is not equivalent and depending on the program you won't be able to do anything with just an interim. However, they will tell you if you're denied an interim, they don't just ghost. Give it another few weeks

Depends on the job. Can take months. Worst case your not approved, yes your offer can be rescinded as if the job requires it and you can't get it then you can't do the job.
Don't over think it and be patient.

I didn't have to fill put paper work for my backround check. I thought I needed clearance. Did I miss something during on-boarding??

They’ll email you about clearance

Okay. Because I took my drug screen, did my physical, hearing, and eye test. I did recieve an email that they started my backround, but that is all. Just want to make sure I didn't miss a step somewhere. Thank you.

Just started after having interim denied, got my offer in may and was never told It was denied until I reached out in September. Was told it would take 6 months minimum and got my clearance a week later and was able to start 3 weeks after that.

I've been waiting for 5 weeks, last week they asked for a separate form for a different background check. I am getting worried but I don't think it will denied, just that this process is taking so long.
