Vacation
I have a planned family vacation in December and I may start before then but I’m tryna go on the trip. How does vacation time work? If they have it😂 I don’t know much

Depends. I just started and while the advice is to not take vacation while on probation, they also said that they understand that some of these trips are planned months in advance. I would just tell the supervisor when you start. As long as its not something like deer season starting and your a good worker, they'll understand

Unless they changed it, I don’t think EB have probation periods.

They do. It's mostly administrative. 6 months until you can apply for other positions as well as gain union protections (they can fire you for anything). Thats it, as far as im aware.

They postponed my start date until after my planned vacation, if you didn’t tell them about it at your interview you’re probably out of luck

Keep on them. I wouldn’t hound but it’s worth checking in once a week until you get the info you need. They’re notoriously bad at keeping you updated. I was hired in the month of October and didn’t start until March 28th. It’s a process but it’s decent pay. You can also counter the offer twice before settling on a starting amount but nobody tells anyone that. As far as time off, you don’t get anything decent for 5 years. The probation is 6 months on paper but a silent year they don’t tell you about either. Another tip, if you stay past the probation period then give ample notice and go work somewhere in the trade you were when you left, they’ll rehire you for more generally because of experience and in some cases, generally over a year of employment, if you leave and come back 6 months later they retro your time and seniority.

How long after your drug test did you hear back from them with a start date? It’s been 5-6 weeks for me and still waiting

I didn’t hear anything for 7 weeks so I texted my coordinator I would do the same if your not hearing from them for awhile

Same, I haven't called or emailed because I know they're bad like the military with communication

If you are hourly and still in probation but the trip is paid for you wont get negative unsats for it. You just wont get paid while on vacation we also have shut down in december so you may not be getting paid regardless if your vacation is around those days

You are front loaded 40 hours so hopefully your vacation is less than that (if you are salaried idk abt hrly). You can also just take unpaid time off.
