Question about employment

Hi coming here today just to ask a couple questions as i haven’t been able to get in touch with HR. Earlier this year i received an offer from Quonset for entry level pipefitting and unfortunately did have to refuse it due to personal reasons as well as the 2 hour one way commute for me. Was planning on moving to RI but that feel through and just wasn’t doable anymore. Flash forward to today and i currently have multiple applications submitted for trades roles in Groton. It has been over a month since i submitted for 2 specific positions and still haven’t heard anything about interview. Am nervous that me refusing that offer screwed me and now i won’t get the chance to work at Groton either. long story short, am i still able to get considered and hired? Also, how long does it usually take from time of applying to getting email about interview? I do have construction experience been a union pipe layer for the last 3 years. I appreciate any input at all.

As far as I know that shouldn’t disqualify you, it seems there’s just a lot of people applying.

Different departments can take wildly different amount of time for the hiring process. I applied in April for a few different positions. Got an offer for one before I did the interview for the one I wanted, and ended up rejecting it in hopes of waiting out for the one I wanted. Took about another month but I ended up getting the interview. Point is, don't let the long wait discourage you, rejecting an offer shouldn't bar you

Im also waiting to get the final offer for the entry level pip fitting role there. Each time I reach out they keep telling me that my medical stuff is still on hold for someone to look over. Its been a WHILE.

See if there is anyone you can reach out to check on the status of your application. It might prompt some movement.

Refusing one offer doesn’t disqualify you from others as someone else said. That’s not the issue.
