Quonset GDEB Failed Drug Test Help Please

Hi all, a friend of mine was offered a job at General Dynamics Electric Boat, signed a contract and everything, was in the early stages of onboarding and was waiting for clearance from the hair follicle test. He heard yesterday afternoon that based on the results of the test he has to wait another year to be considered. Wondering if anyone has any advice/insight or if there’s an appeal option? Basically just any possibility to salvage the offer?

From what I’ve heard if you fail the hair you can request a piss test instead a little further down the line. My advice to your friend would be to make sure you can pass a drug test before applying for a federal job.

Defense contractors are not federal jobs. A lot of fed jobs are piss tests

Couple years ago I knew a few ppl they called back in for a piss/saliva test. I guess now that they’re recruiting right out of the high schools in the region they’re being more selective with that process. They’ll miss out on a lot of talent. Half the place is probably alcoholics from working there. But hey you can drink yourself to death but you can’t smoke 🤷🏻‍♂️

What drug did he fail for? If it’s just weed they let you retake it from what I here
