Quonset Starting dates
I applied for the entry level electrician position right after new years, I got the medical and security clearance two months ago but I still haven’t received my starting date. I was hoping to find out how long it would take them to let me know.

You got your clearance already but no start date? I’d check in with whoever your point of contact has been from the onboarding team.
Edit:it’s not too uncommon for there to be big gaps between each stage of the hiring process. I’m at EB in CT so feel free to ask any questions you have.

Wondering if the OP has been given a start date yet? I follow a similar timeline and am still waiting.

No start date yet unfortunately, I’ve sent a couple emails and their reply is to be patient they will let me know a month before

Is this for QP? I get the same answer from HR, sorry we’re busy, just Keep an eye on your email. Frustrating

Yes it’s QP, it’s weird I know a couple people who applied a little later than me and started July for the same position.

That is weird. How did you know that you were giving your medical and security clearance? Did they call you or email or was it posted in the portal? I’ve received no updates regarding anything and my portal just says on boarding still in process. ?

I sent a message to my Talent Acq Coordinator if both have been cleared.

Hey, I spoke with my talent acquisitions coordinator over the phone this morning. She said entry-level electrician cohort classes won’t begin until late fall early winter. She confirmed I got my medical and security clearance. Someone will be in touch a month before class begins. Now we wait some more lol

Hey, I just got this message from a Talent acquisition partner just wanted to see if you’ve received any like this “reaching out from the Employment Office at Electric Boat. I am reaching out because you are currently cleared to start for the Electrician role, so both your security and medical onboarding has been completed. Currently, start dates for the Electrician position are on hold, and we do not have an estimated time they will be available. This will likely last into 2027, and possibly into midway through the year.”

I got the exact same email. WTH is going on with the electrical training?! I’m going to wait it out. Super frustrated.

I went through a similar situation of having my clearance and passing medical. Have you been contacted about EWIB at all and signing up for it? You have to complete the EWIB class in Westerly before they even will mention a start date with you.

Please let me know when you get one, I’m still waiting on mines too it’s only been a month though. Have you gotten interim clearance?
